The one day National Vocational Beach Lifeguard Proficiency Award will re-qualify the learner with the knowledge and skills required in order to provide professional patrolling and water services, in surf conditions, with rescue skills and advanced fitness requirements. Aspects of the course are physically demanding and will include running, swimming to set times and some lifting. The Award is comprised of a variety of units and all must be successfully passed to attain the qualification. There is a minimum of 20 hours learning required for this course is. As this is not achievable within the one day period it is prior learning and continual professional development will be assessed before being able to sign on to the course. As well as this CPD a certain amount of pre course learning will need to take place before the course commences.

Awareness of Safeguarding Safeguarding • Adults & Children at Risk Our Safeguarding Workshops cover a variety of topics, including identifying signs of abuse or neglect, understanding legal responsibilities related to safeguarding, and implementing effective strategies for preventing harm. Course: Four Hours Cost:  £45 + vat per person Awareness of Safeguarding Qualification will provide an understanding of Safeguarding which can be used in a workplace, activity group or any instance where a person comes into contact with children or adults at risk. The Qualification provides learners with the knowledge to identify a Safeguarding concern, record a disclosure and report to the appropriate person. SYLLABUS A range of Safeguarding related subjects are covered including: Safeguarding legislation and guidance Roles and responsibilities Abuse and neglect Identifying concerns and disclosure Making judgements Reporting Safeguarding concerns CERTIFICATION Upon successful completion of the qualification assessment, learners will be awarded an Ofqual regulated qualification. The qualification does not have an expiry date, but refresher training and keeping up-to-date with changes to policies, procedures and new legislation through ongoing CPD is vital.
