Our Induction Days ran on the first Wednesday of every month (subject to availability) and are a pre-requisite to all of our longer courses. The day is designed for those who want to gain a basic understanding of what our longer courses entail and/or are trying to establish if a career in dog grooming is for them. The cost of this day is deducted from one of the longer course of your choice. THE COURSE WILL COVER Health and safety induction and UK Animal Welfare Legislation Handling and correct lifting techniques Preparing and grooming dogs prior to bathing Bathe and clean dogs Drying dogs and preparing their coat for styling Nail and ear care Finishing and styling demonstration by a stylist Students will receive all course materials and it is recommended that students bring along a camera for before and after photographs as well as pens, high-lighters and notepads.

Modules allow an understanding of the concept of hazard and risk, a learner's own and their employer's legal obligations, the types and nature of safety hazards and how to avoid the hazard or reduce its risk of causing harm and how to respond to emergency situations. In addition to common mandatory health and safety modules, learners will also choose modules relevant to their occupational pathway.

The Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level 1 Award in Wines is an ideal starting point for any wine enthusiast who: is considering embarking on a professional career in the drinks industry would like to improve their knowledge of wine through more structured training, and be awarded a certificate to prove they know their stuff It is an enjoyable, relaxed and interactive course designed to introduce participants, in a structured way, to wine styles, storing and serving of wine, and food and wine matching. No prior experience of wine tasting is necessary. There is a short multiple-choice assessment at the end of the day to ensure you have met all the criteria, and can be awarded the certificate. The manicure offers the therapist or technician a whole range of options to suit nearly every client. This course will teach you everything you need to know about offering a professional manicure and includes a practical training session and assessment. Gel Polish treatments are an increasingly popular treatment within the professional beauty industry. Gel Polish is applied to the client’s nail and then cured using an LED or UV lamp to create a longer lasting nail treatment (up to 3 weeks) than a standard manicure. The GTi Gel Polish course covers how to complete gel polish application and demonstrates the correct removal techniques. The course also covers reception and consultation, contra-indications to treatment and aftercare advice. The Pass Plus Scheme is not a test, it is an evaluation by your instructor who, when satisfied that you are competent in each of the above types of driving situation will issue a pass plus certificate.

Virtual Reality Safety training session

This one day course provides an excellent introduction to managing and supervising volunteers covering the skills, paperwork and processes needed to recruit, induct and support them. The course can be expanded to run as a series of half day sessions and can also be adapted to the specific needs of organisations who would like the session to be run in-house.
