Overview
This course is designed to provide operatives with thorough theory and practical training in the role of the piling rig attendant.
This will allow candidates to competently and safely carry out their role and pass the CPCS Theory and Practical Tests.
Course Content
Name and explain the purpose of principal plant components, the basic construction, controls and terminology
Conform with manufacturer’s requirements as per the operator’s handbook, and relevant regulations and legislation
Undertake all pre-use plant equipment checks
Outline their role in setting up and rigging equipment
Explain the purpose of having work platform certificates
Manoeuvre in confined spaces
Guide a piling rig to a given location including through areas of limited space
Explain actions required for hazards, underground and overhead services
Explain how rigs and configured for travel
Comply with signals and instructions
Maintain safe working situations
Explain lifting requirements and limitations using a piling rig
Assist in shut down and securing procedures
Explain the de-rigging, loading and unloading procedures for machine transporting
Entry Requirements
Candidates must have achieved the relevant CITB Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) touch-screen-test within 2 years.

NPORS MEWP Supervisor Awareness (N035)

The DfE is very strict about this requirement as can be seen by the way they regulate and enforce this legislation. Under the 2019 Education Inspection Framework, failing to meet the standards almost guarantees an &ldquo;inadequate&rdquo; inspection judgment. </span></p>

Background
All independent schools must meet all the paragraphs of the Independent School Standards in order to maintain their registration and keep their doors open. The DfE is very strict about this requirement as can be seen by the way they regulate and enforce this legislation. Under the 2019 Education Inspection Framework, failing to meet the standards almost guarantees an “inadequate” inspection judgment. 
The latest Ofsted statistics show that:
• 23% of Independent Schools that had a standard between September 2022 and August 2023 failed to meet the standards.
• 52% of those that had a progress monitoring inspection during the same period failed to demonstrate that they had addressed previously un-met standards.
