This is not a single course but a set of menu options from which you can 'pick and mix' to create a draft programme yourself, as a discussion document which we can then fine-tune with you. For a day's training course, simply consider your objectives, select six hours' worth of modules and let us do the fine-tuning so that you get the best possible training result. Consider your objectives carefully for maximum benefit from the course. Is the training for new or experienced credit control staff? Are there specific issues to be addressed within your particular sector (eg, housing, education, utilities, etc)? Do your staff need to know more about the legal issues? Or would a practical demonstration of effective telephone tactics be more useful to them? Menu Rather than a generic course outline, the expert trainer has prepared a training 'menu' from which you can select those topics of most relevance to your organisation. We can then work with you to tailor a programme that will meet your specific objectives. The 'golden rule' of negotiation is simple - don't! But life's rarely that simple and very often we do have to negotiate, particularly if we want to win the business and especially if we want to win it on our terms. Such negotiations are crucial. We need to prepare for them. We need a strategy, and the skills to execute it. Does your team have a structured approach? Is it flawlessly executed, every time? Or is there room for improvement? This programme will help them master the six fundamentals of closing better business: Manage all these elements well and you will win more business, more profitably. This course will help participants: Negotiate from a position of partnership, not competition Deal more effectively and profitably with price objections Identify and practise successful sales negotiating skills Identify strengths and weaknesses as a sales negotiator Understand different types of buyer behaviour Learn to recognise negotiating tactics and stances Apply a new and proven structure to their business negotiations Identify and adapt for different behavioural styles Be alert to unconscious (non-verbal) communication Prepare and present a proposal at a final business negotiation stage Project confidence and exercise assertiveness in all sales negotiations 1 Planning for successful business negotiations This session introduces the concept of business negotiation and looks at its importance in the context of the participants' roles and activities. It briefly examines why we negotiate and the dynamics involved. Session highlights: What kind of a negotiator are you? It also examines key principles of body language and non-verbal communication in a practical way. Session highlights: Gaining rapport and influencing unconsciously Understanding the importance of non-verbal communication; reading other people's meaning and communicating effectively as a result Ensure that non-verbal behaviour is fully utilised and observed to create maximum impact and monitor progress (eg, buying signals) Recognising that business negotiations are precisely structured and agreements gained incrementally 5 Proposing and 'packaging' This session highlights how best to present and package your proposal. It looks at how to pre-empt the need for negotiating by creating minor-options and 'bargaining' points, as well as how to manage the expectations and perceptions of the customer or buyer. Session highlights: How to identify the key variables that can be negotiated The power and use of 'authority' within your negotiations How to structure and present your proposal, ideas or quotation to best effect The importance of when and how to identify and influence buyer's objections 6 Dealing with price This module highlights how to best present and package price within your proposal or negotiation. We often find ourselves working in fast-paced matrix environments, working in/with virtual teams or simply trying to get something done by someone in another part of the business. This common aspect of our working lives has a common challenge: how to influence other people to help us or do something for us, when they don't report to us. Pulling rank or strong nudging might work once, but we need to build a supportive and collaborative relationship over the long term. What Does This Course Offer? Fortunately, there are really effective tips for influencing, and our program offers an influencing model in detail. Through activity and discussion we explore how you can apply these principles and use it when you need help from other people. Even when we are not in a leadership position it can sometimes be extremely difficult to get people's help, especially when we have no authority over them. This is where an approach and an influencing model can help us identify what we and other people value in a given influencing situation. We can then explore that information so that everyone can view and pursue a common purpose. This course will enhance and promote the skill set necessary for any leader or manager, allowing our in-depth influencing knowledge to be applied into your working environment. From an employer's perspective this award can be a significant long-term return on investment by developing your leaders and managers. Our learning experiences are successful because the outcomes are quickly embedded and demonstrate an immediate visible impact on the day-to-day working environment. Our engaging learning inspires employees to want to personally add value to the companies they work for. We also offer our Paradigm Trait-Map™ online assessment and report as a frame of reference for your own influencing styles and that of others. This assessment should be completed before attending the program, and will be expanded upon during the program delivery. Course Content The Influencing for Leadership and Management course covers the following topics: Two key influencing models that you can apply back in your daily work Different types of influencing How to create the right environment for influencing Barriers you may face and how to overcome these barriers Accreditation Activity Our accredited tutors deliver training that encourages delegates to confidently and practically apply all they have learnt as soon as they get back into the business. To achieve this award, delegates need to prepare and deliver a 3 minute presentation* on the highlights of their learning and immediate application avenues when back in their working environment. *Participants will be given 30 minutes during the program to prepare for their 3 min presentation at the end of the program. ABOUT THE MQ EXECUTIVE DIPLOMA Are There Different Types of Motivational Leadership? Motivation is the fuel that drives the accomplishment of a goal; without any motivation, the goal becomes another difficult task. Motivational leadership means understanding that regardless of whether you’re leading a small group or an entire business, your leadership and motivational style can significantly impact the effectiveness of your effort. There are several leadership and motivation styles, but the challenge comes with finding the most appropriate for you and your team. In our leadership development program, we’ll discuss leadership motivational skills while working with you to find the best one. Motivational leadership either takes the form of intrinsic or extrinsic motivation. Intrinsic motivation motivates your team to be rewarded internally, and extrinsic motivation uses compensation as a driving force. Compensation can be salary, bonuses, goods, money, or even an appraisal. Here are some examples of different intrinsic and extrinsic motivational types: Competence Motivation – This style is driven by curiosity and a willingness to know more and cultivate additional skills. This style’s central pillar is building more expertise on a subject matter as a noncompetition among peers. Achievement Motivation – Achievement motivation is similar to competence, as it aims to achieve personal development goals. This could take the form of a title within the company. An example could be in your sales department, where a leaderboard or wall of fame is used to track sales. Reward-Based Motivation – This is probably the only motivational type most are aware of, as it’s the easiest way to get a fast motivational boost. The main issue with this type of motivation is that employees get used to it, and the effects don’t last long. Understand the Importance of Motivation Skills in Leadership Motivation drives nearly every action of our lives. Motivational leadership drives the why behind every business idea that’s ever been put into action. As a leader or manager, you must understand the importance of motivating team members, and being able to do this effectively is a requirement in every manager, leader, or business owner’s toolkit. Our management development program builds on best practices, strategic insights, and lessons learned over three decades of building leadership universities for Fortune 500 companies. Focusing on imparting fundamental skills to our executive development course offers powerful insights into the human side of the business. You’ll gain the skills needed to foster a growth mindset within your team. Here are some additional reasons why motivational leadership matters: Improved Performance – Motivated employees can drive the performance of your business. When your employees are motivated, you’ll find lower levels of absenteeism, improved relationships between managers and employees, and improved worker performance throughout your business. Enhanced Innovation – Motivation is a significant force behind innovative ideas. You’re more likely to identify workplace improvement opportunities when your team is motivated. Improved Workplace Culture – Employee motivation and your workplace culture are closely linked. When you take our leadership development program, you’ll discover that a motivated workforce brings commitment, and drive, which enhances your business’s overall morale and creates a positive work culture. Register your interest Motivational Leadership Techniques That Foster Engagement When employees are unmotivated or disengaged, it’s easy to blame tools, processes, or contributing factors. Often, disengagement comes down to a lack of effective leadership. Our leadership training program will help you unlock what leaders need to inspire their employees to do their job and find purpose within their roles. Here are some ways you can apply what you learned during your leadership development program to encourage collaborative leadership and inspire your team to do their very best work: Employees Trust Leaders Whom Both Lead and Follow – Good leaders don’t needlessly exhibit authoritative behaviour. Good leaders show their team that they are willing to roll up their sleeves and work with their team to improve the business. Passion and Positivity Increase Employee Performance – Effective motivational leadership combines finding meaning in work, leveraging connection and community, converting stress into opportunity, taking actions despite the risk, and lastly, maintaining the energy of others through motivation. Show enthusiasm in your business, which will convey your passion to others and can help increase performance and employee engagement. Effective Leadership Prioritizes Business – Successful leaders are more about short-term goals than reaching the next milestone and contributing to your overall business. Practical leadership qualities include providing growth opportunities, inspiring and motivating employees, being open and trusting, and assessing and managing risks. These decisions lead to more long-term success for your business.
