PACE was developed by Dr Dan Hughes (a clinical psychologist specialising in childhood trauma) more than 20 years ago as a central part of attachment-focused family therapy. It was created with the aim of supporting adults to build safe, trusting and meaningful relationships with children and young people who have experienced trauma. The approach focuses on building trusting relationships, emotional connections, containment of emotions and a sense of security.  PACE is a way of thinking, feeling, communicating and behaving that aims to make the child feel safe. Its four principles of communication – Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy – facilitate the building of healthy, secure attachments between caregiver and child. PACE parenting is especially effective for supporting children that lack secure emotional bases. It is ideal for anyone working or living with children, especially those children in the care system Who is this course for? Anyone working with or living with children and young people. Like foster carers, adopting parents, residential carers, social workers but would also benefit parents experiencing difficulties. What will it cost? The 2-hour Baby & Child First Aid class covers CPR, Choking, Bumps, Burns, Breaks, Bleeding, Febrile Seizures and Meningitis & Sepsis Awareness and will give everyone who attends the peace of mind they deserve.

This is for New leaders/Managers working within early years. This programme is delivered over 12 weeks consisting of 6 topics which all include work based projects. 1. What does good leadership look like? 2 Enhance your communication skills .3. Let us explore good teamwork. 4 Managing Difficult Conversations. 5. Getting to know sector relevant documents. 6. The importance of wellbeing for yourself and for your team. This programme of training ensures new leaders are professional, knowledgeable and confident in leading teams of people.  The work based projects gives the opportunity to practise new skills and then reflect on that practise with the trainer. The programme is delivered individually for maximum impact either face to face or virtually depending on the location The trainer has 24 years experience of managing teams of people in the early years and can relate to the busy, challenging emotional environments that Early Years Leaders work in. Each session is 1.5hrs.

The Paediatric First aid course provides the comprehensive set of practical skills needed by first aiders in childcare settings. Giving both the ability and knowledge to deal with first aid emergencies and common childhood illnesses. It meets the standards required to help comply with Ofsted regulations.
