Course Introduction Our Venepuncture and Phlebotomy training equips delegates with the skills and knowledge needed to take blood safely.

About this event
Applicable to Nurses, Health Care Assistants and Phlebotomists in primary care, the community, hospitals or nursing homes, this course is interactive and involves a demonstration session on performing blood tests. Our venepuncture training will give delegates the theoretical and practical awareness to undertake a competence assessment framework in the workplace that will deem them competent to take blood safely and appropriately. Each delegate will receive a competence-based framework to allow them to do this.
Course Aims
Identify and describe equipment used for routine venepuncture
Be able to assess and select suitable sites used for venepuncture as well as locations to avoid
Describe and utilize the required steps to perform routine venepuncture
Describe actions that ensure safety during performance of a venepuncture
Identify suitable vein selection and identify factors influencing this
Understand relevant professional and legal issues
Be able to identify potential complications
Understand anatomy and physiology and correct vein selection
Be familiar with equipment and exercise choice in using most appropriate equipment
Practice safely in terms of infection control and waste management
Become skilled and competent at phlebotomy

Our Ear Care training course is designed to provide healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills required to safely assess the need for and perform ear irrigation using specialised ear irrigation devices.
PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT COVER MICROSUCTION ON THIS COURSE.
This training covers how to perform this procedure in a variety of settings, including general practice, community care, emergency, residential care and pharmacy. It is healthcare professionals already working in a healthcare setting with appropriate supervision and support - including both those with no prior knowledge of aural care or those who need an update in their skills and knowledge base.
Delegates will leave our Ear Care course with a competency-based assessment document, which will enable them to undertake a period of supervised mentoring and practice.
A practical demonstration of how to use the propulse machine is included in this training however please note that we do not practice on “live subjects”.

The Level 3 International Foundation Diploma for Higher Education Studies
(L3IFDHES) is usually a one-year pre-university qualification that provides
students with an entry route to an overseas university. The L3IFDHES prepares
students with the essential English language skills, key transferable study skills,
cultural knowledge, and chosen specialisms that universities feel bridges the gap
between high school and undergraduate study.
In January 2023 we offer pathways in business and higher finance.

progress with confidence to a higher education course for further study.
Entry Requirements
For entry onto the NCC Education Level 3 International Foundation Diploma
for Higher Education Studies (L3IFDHES) qualification students must have
successfully completed secondary school education.
Students must also meet the English language entry requirements of:
• IELTS minimum score of 4.5 or above
OR
• GCE ‘O’ Level English D7 or above
Alternatively, a student can take the free NCC Education Higher English
Placement Test which is administered by our Accredited Partner Centre’s.
