When The Party's Over: substance use, addictions and workplace support

By Mindmaps Wellbeing

When The Party's Over: Substance use, addictions and workplace support  We use substances for all sorts of reasons—to manage stress or illness, to sleep, to unwind, to have fun, to cope. It may not always be healthy, but it often makes sense. “Substance use” spans a wide spectrum of meaning and social acceptability—and that context shapes how we judge others, and ourselves.  The word “drugs” often conjures up extremes, but the reality spans everything from your morning coffee and after work drinks, to your vape break, to prescription medications, to substances that are illegal to buy, or taboo to use. What society chooses to label as acceptable—or not—sometimes has less to do with harm, and more to do with social and cultural norms and values.  As we explore in this workshop, feelings of judgement and shame frequently perpetuate the cycle of substance addiction; so how can we successfully modify our behaviour if we can’t talk about it, or ask for help and support, especially at work?  This workshop is not a lesson about the dangers or symptoms of drug misuse, It is an engaging, thought-provoking exploration designed to increase understanding and compassion.  Workshop outline:  Reframing the drug landscape – breaking down the stigma  Challenging the misconceptions about substance use and addiction  Exploring useful strategies to support progress and prevent relapse  How to better recognise the signs of difficulty and hold empathetic conversations  Navigate self-help, peer, and professional support options for the workplace  FIND OUT MORE HERE Build your own training package At Mindmaps Wellbeing, we know that every business is unique, and no team is the same. That’s why we’ve developed our range of short, specialist wellbeing and mental health themed workshops—a fully flexible approach to workplace wellbeing training.  Because all of our workshops are short and impactful, you can build a package that truly meets your organisation’s needs. Perhaps you’re looking to manage stress, challenge stigma, or avoid burnout? Maybe your team would benefit from some training on self-care, starting difficult conversations or coping with remote working? Grief Unscripted; Rebuilding after loss 2-hour workshop

By Mindmaps Wellbeing

Grief unscripted Grief Unscripted; Rebuilding after loss  2-Hour Workshop  Grief isn’t a one-size-fits-all experience – it’s messy, unpredictable, and completely unique to each of us. That’s why we call it Grief Unscripted – because, just like life, there’s no script, no right way to grieve, and no timeline to follow.  Whether it’s loss, change, or the unexpected twists life throws at us, this workshop provides practical strategies and holistic psychology to help us understand grief and mourning. We’ll dig deep into this messy, poignant and personal journey that affects us all, while breaking down the stigma and opening-up honest conversations.  Grief deserves to be seen, heard, and supported – just like any part of the human experience. We’re breaking down the stigma around this natural, yet individual, human response.  Workshop outline: Workshop outline:   Understand grief as a deeply individual, yet universally shared human experience.  Recognise the different forms grief can take, including anticipatory, disenfranchised, and cumulative grief Explore the influences of culture, tradition, and personal beliefs on coping and stigma  Challenge misconceptions about grief and mourning, and learn to support yourself and others compassionately.  Develop confidence in holding open, stigma-breaking conversations around grief and loss.   Join us for Grief Unscripted – because to grieve is to be human. Let’s talk about it with compassion and courage. 2-hour workshop packages Build your own training package At Mindmaps Wellbeing, we know that every business is unique, and no team is the same. Managing for Growth

By High Force Training Ltd

Managing for Growth is designed for anyone who has management and leadership responsibilities within an organisation. Suitable for newly promoted managers, team leaders and supervisors through to senior managers; the objective of the programme is to develop a culture that will translate strategy into measurable outcomes by engaging these leaders to facilitate change and innovation. The programme is extremely effective at giving managers the tools and skills to deliver sustainable change and business growth. It's also been proven to reduce costs and increase profit – even before the programme has ended.   Managing for Growth is built upon three aspects common to every job:   Managing Resources. Ensuring that the resources available are appropriate for the tasks for which they are required and are being used effectively. Learning how to control and coordinate a mix of available resources for maximum efficiency. Managing Relationships. Positively influencing people’s behaviour in order to motivate them and promote effective working. Focusing on listening skills, we share ways to improve communication and teamwork to get the best from both internal and external relationships. Controlling Routines. Investigating the processes/systems/routines/series of actions that are linked together to achieve a desired outcome. Recognising the importance of controlling, developing, simplifying and following routines.   Managing for Growth shows your team leaders, supervisors and managers how to cultivate a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement within your organisation.   Focus for Action Throughout the programme the participants take part in work-based activities that will cause them to evaluate every aspect of their job and identify areas for improvement. By the end of the programme, the participants act on these action lists and implement improvement projects that will deliver measurable results.   Continuous Improvement Managing for Growth sets the framework for continuous improvement by transferring skills and knowledge enabling your team leaders to translate organisational strategies into real, measurable outcomes.   Format Designed for groups of up to 6 people, the programme is spread over 4 months with the first 7 sessions being held every 2 weeks and the final session a month later. Each session lasts approximately 2 hours.
