This one day training will give learners an overview of how to deliver Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST). CST is a brief evidence-based group treatment for people with dementia. This interactive course will include a background about CST and how it can be used, research overview and detailed presentation of the treatment, including video footage and role-play.

Dermaplaning is an exfoliation treatment that removes the dead skin cells in the upper layer of the skin. It uses a surgical scalpel to lightly 'shave' the skin's surface, removing the face's fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). The treatment will produce a brighter and more youthful glow to the client's skin and allow skincare products to be absorbed more easily. Clients also find that their makeup sits more smoothly on their skin following "peach fuzz" removal. The treatment can be performed monthly in under thirty minutes and has minimal downtime. The history and story of Sid Sottung Academy's humble foundations and superb success. Humble Beginnings Sid Sottung started off as we all do, a beginner! At the age of 14 working as an assistant in a traditional Italian barbershop in New York, but so eager to make his mark on the industry, Sid at 18 began a his career with Vidal Sassoon by training in their Downtown New York salon as a stylist. After successful stints in their New York & Washington D.C salons he rose to Assistant Creative Director. On the back of a decorated career in Sassoon salons, Sid graduated to their academies as an educator teaching both hairdressing & barbering. Sid’s first stop was the Santa Monica Academy also working for television and teaching at international shows as far afield as China After parting ways with Sassoon, Sid pursued an exciting freelance career guesting & teaching in exclusive salons & barbershops. He was also, proudly a member of the hair team, working on the 2005 blockbuster Pride & Prejudice. Building On Success Having trained educators & written curriculums for other academies, Sid felt that 2014 was the correct time to open his very own academy. Learn Photoshop from a photographer’s perspective and the essential skills you need to really make your images shine. If you don’t have a digital SLR we can often provide one for you – please let us know at time of booking to confirm. You can also use your interchangeable or fixed lens system, mirrorless or rangefinder camera on this course. Bridge cameras without interchangeable lenses can be used too, but please note that they may not allow the full range of camera controls. Computer experience is beneficial. Week 1: Camera You will be guided through the manual settings of your Digital SLR camera, fully exploring how to capture light and time in a single image. Learn how to generate accurate exposures through aperture, shutter speed and ISO control and how/when to apply them creatively. We’ll explore some of the other digital settings that are key to understanding and building your confidence with your own camera. Week 2: Creating Put into practice all the camera features discussed and demonstrated in Week 1 on a walk around town. You will then return to the gallery for discussion and troubleshooting session to help further iron out any kinks. Week 3: Composition Will introduce you to photographic composition, history and appreciation and will be accompanied by more time to shoot so as to put these new skills into practice Week 4: Critique This week the full digital workflow will be explored with focus on image selection and post production techniques. An introduction to Adobe programs Bridge and Photoshop will be a key part of this process.
