Our regulated and nationally recognised FREC 3, pre-hospital care qualification is ideal for those seeking a career in the emergency services, ambulance service, the event and security medical sector or those who work in high risk workplaces. Over a 5 day period, learners will gain the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to deal with a range of pre-hospital care emergencies, such as: managing a patient’s airways, catastrophic bleeding, management of fractures, medical emergencies and more. Ideal as an alternative to the First Person on Scene Intermediate (FPOSi) qualification, the QA Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (FREC 3) also forms part of a progressive suite of pre-hospital care qualifications that lead to the QA Level 5 First Response Emergency and Urgent Care (RQF). This course is for people who are often the first to respond to a possible medical emergency. This encompasses Police, Firefighters, and medical staff at festivals and events. It also includes Emergency/Community First Responders, Door Supervisors, Close Protection Operatives, and Security Guards. Individuals working in high-risk environments are also catered for. These environments include the military, power stations, agriculture, and manufacturing facilities.

3 Day First Aid Description: The full 3-day First Aid at Work Qualification is nationally recognised. It meets the standards required to help comply with Health and Safety (First aid) regulations. This qualification is valid for three year, after which delegates need to complete a 2-day refresher course. Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and care of the unconscious requires physical effort. Learners should be capable of working with casualties at floor level. Learners receive a First Aid at Work guide book, a training dressing and a CPR barrier protection device. The HSE strongly recommend that all First Aiders undertake annual refresher training of at least 3 hours per year. You’ll use the whole range of paediatric first equipment, and will try out your newly learned techniques on my adult, child and baby mannequins. I’m happy to tailor the content with additions. If you want me to focus on a specific area of paediatric first aid, that’s fine. Here’s what you’ll learn: Responsibilities and reporting requirements Assessing a medical situation How to perform CPR Resuscitation and using a defibrillator Treatment of an unconscious casualty, and the recovery position Choking Head injuries Seizures, including febrile convulsions Bleeding and shock Burns and scalds Fainting Anaphylaxis, and using an EpiPen Diabetes and asthma emergencies Foreign objects Eye injuries Sprains, strains and fractures Heat and cold Sickle cell anaemia and meningitis

It is a requirement of the Health & Safety law that employers provide a safe and healthy environment to work in. If your assessment of first aid needs highlights the need for qualified first aiders, then this level 3 qualification (level 6 in Scotland) will provide you with suitable, highly trained personnel. This comprehensive three-day course covers a wide range of first aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with emergency situations with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way. In addition, this course will include any protocol changes that may have arisen since their last training course.

2 Day First Aid Refresher Description:The 2 day First Aid at Work Requalification Course is nationally recognised. It meets the standards required to help comply with Health and Safety (First aid) regulations. The 2-Day first Aid at Work Refresher Course is appropriate for candidates who are currently holding an in-date and valid full First Aid at Work Qualification. Upon completion of the course the candidates qualification is renewed for a further three years. Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and care of the unconscious requires physical effort. Learners should be capable of working with casualties at floor level. Learners receive a First Aid at Work guide book, a training dressing and a CPR barrier protection device.
