Join me on this landscape photography workshop in the iconic mountains, quarries and landscape of SnowdoniaLandscape PhotographyA new addition to the tours and workshops, this area has some of the highest mountain ranges in England and Wales. The landscape is rugged but beautiful with high mountains, flowing rivers and large lakes. Based around Capel Curig in the National Park we will visit some hidden treasures, lakes, mountains, quarries and iconic vistas.A Snowdonia photography workshop and photo walk in Cwm Idwal amidst the Glyderau and Carneddau mountain ranges, the glacial lakes of Llyn Idwal and Llyn Ogwen and the impressive Ogwen Falls. A workshop for beginners or anyone looking to further develop their landscape photography.Course content includes camera controls, use of filters, gear choice, advice on composition. The workshop involves walking to different viewpoints within Cwm Idwal on rocky, uneven paths and an ascent of 300ft to a viewpoint above the lake so a good level of fitness and mobility is required. Due to the terrain unfortunately the workshop is unsuitable for those with limited mobility.What do you need to bring with you?Camera/lenses/Spare memory card/batteries/tripod - A digital camera with "semi-automatic/manual" controls (Aperture and Shutter priority) is recommended to get the most from the course. Filters (if you have them) A packed lunch/snacks The relevant user manual for your camera Warm/waterproof clothing and suitable footwear - weather can be unpredictable all year round in Snowdonia. About this Training Course This 3 full-day course provides a sound review of Pipeline Integrity Management strategies, in compliance with regulatory requirements, including self-assessment. The course is highly interactive and takes the form of lectures and case studies. On completion of the course, the participants will have a solid understanding of the procedures, strengths, limitations, and applicability of the main issues that comprise a Pipeline Integrity Management Program. The course incorporates API 1160 / 1173 and ASME B31.8S, and explains in detail the pipeline integrity requirements described in these standards. This course can also be offered through Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) format. Training Objectives Objectives of this course: Explore the latest techniques used to develop a comprehensive integrity management program covering both pipelines and their associated facilities Determine the necessary elements of such a program described in detail with examples of typical program content including an overarching view of where detailed risk analysis and defect assessment fits in the program Understand the scopes and contents of pipeline integrity standards i.e. API 1160 / 1173 and ASME B31.8S On completion of this course, the participants will be able to understand: Codes used in developing Integrity Management Plans, API 1160 / 1173 and ASME B31.8S, others The elements of an Integrity Management Plan Threat assessment Critical aspects of risk assessment Prevention and mitigation measures Characteristics and limitations of different inspection methods A risk-based approach to maintenance Target Audience The course is intended for supervisors, engineers and technicians responsible for ensuring the adequate protection of pipeline assets. Outspoken Cycles Park Tool School courses are aimed at home mechanics who wish to have an in-depth knowledge of their bikes as well as those individuals required to maintain bikes for friends, schools, clubs, businesses and other organisations. The 2 Day Intermediate course teaches you mechanical skills following the Park Tool Big Blue Book of Bicycle Repair syllabus to familiarise you with many bicycle systems and workshop practices. Completion of assessment leads to the award of a certificate. You are encouraged to work on your own bike. Please be aware for some elements of the course certain bikes may not be suitable, however, there are also a number of classroom bikes to work on where necessary. Courses take place in our dedicated training workshop at our offices in Cambridge. We have an abundance of bike racks, and we are close to Cambridge North Station. There is limited parking on site on a first-come-first-served basis and we are close to parking at Cambridge North Station. There is some limited on-road parking (at owners risk). Looking to get some tips on maintaining your own bike when you’re in the middle of nowhere on your next tour, or just always wanted to know how to change a chain and cassette? The 3 day Surf Coach Safety and Rescue Award establishes a standard that demonstrates the level of competence in lifesaving to meet the needs of becoming and operating as a Surf Coach. The course is physically demanding and will include swimming to set times and lifting. The Surf Coach Safety and Rescue Award is comprised of a variety of units and all must be successfully passed to attain the qualification.

Our one-day Park Tool School Basic: Ride with Confidence Course is perfect for anyone looking to learn how to address common issues while out riding. It is suitable for people with little to no knowledge of bike maintenance. This course is intended to ensure that participants leave at the end of the day with the confidence to fix common problems with their bikes. The maximum group size is 7. Our fully trained mechanic will be on hand to answer questions as they come up, and there is plenty of opportunity for practice. This course is fully endorsed by the Bikeabillity Trust for mechanic certification! For those participants seeking a Bikeability accreditation, there will be an assessment after the training. Please note for all other participants there is no assessment.   Course Detail Basic Mechanical Skills – tools, stands, home shop set-up, tension & torquing bolts, lubrication, threadlockers & cleaners, health & safety Safety “M” check Tyres, tube & puncture repair (innertube replacement), with wheel removal and installation Looking after your drivetrain: lubrication, cleaning and wear of chains, rear sprockets and chainrings Disc brake systems – differences of cable vs hydraulic, rotors, basics of brake alignment, pad replacement Caliper rim brake adjustment and pad replacement for v-brake, dual pivot road caliper and cantilever Field repairs – what tools to take and tips & tricks to get you home! Please note that we will be concentrating on standard derailleur geared bikes. If you have a bike with hub brakes and hub gears you may find some parts of this course less relevant to your bike, though most things are transferable.
