This 2 - 2-5 hour course is designed is designed to provide parents and carers with the opportunity to: Develop the basic skills and knowledge needed to deal with a wide range of emergency paediatric First Aid situations, which could arise when looking after babies and children. The course can take place in in a community group or in the comfort of your home, with family and friends who maybe caring for your child or they may have children of their own. This TQUK Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work course is designed to provide learners with the essential skills and knowledge to handle emergency situations in the workplace effectively. Ideal for those responsible for first aid in low-risk work environments, the course offers a blend of theoretical instruction and cutting-edge virtual reality (VR) practical sessions to enhance hands-on experience in a safe, controlled environment. Throughout the course, learners will develop a solid understanding of first aid principles, including how to assess and manage various emergencies such as injuries, shock, burns, and medical conditions like heart attacks or strokes. The integration of VR technology allows participants to immerse themselves in realistic scenarios, reinforcing their ability to apply first aid techniques with confidence. The QCF approved qualification came into effect on 1st October 2013, along with new guidance on assessing the needs of First Aid in your workplace. Your risk assessments of First Aid needs may well identify the need for Emergency First Aiders at Work (EFAW) either as an addition to your First Aiders (3-day), or where your Company activities are low risk. A lot of our Clients have requested this course as extra cover when working on construction sites or similar works covered by the Principal Contractors trained site first aiders and for smaller works. Aims To give a basic knowledge to help you deal with any Emergency First Aid at Work. Course Content • Responsibilities and reporting • Assessment of the situation • Basic hygiene in First Aid • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty • Resuscitation and AED (defib) • Heart attacks • Bleeding • Minor injuries • Choking • Shock • Seizures. Prerequisites None - The course is intended either as an introduction or as a refresher. Assessment Delegates will be required to pass a multiple-choice test at the end of the training. (In addition, the HSE strongly recommend that all students undergo an annual refresher programme of about 3 hours, although this is not mandatory). Certificate On successful completion of the course, all delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.
