This course is ideal to give all members of staff basic fire training to increase awareness and cooperation in the event of a fire in the workplace.

Course Objectives The delegates are able to demonstrate knowledge of the development and spread of fire. The delegates are able to demonstrate knowledge of the causes of fires in wind turbines and the dangers related to this. The delegates are able to identify any sign of a fire in a wind turbine environment. The delegates are able to demonstrate knowledge of the contingency plans in a wind turbine environment including smoke detection and emergency escape procedures. The delegates are able to demonstrate correct actions on discovering a fire including correct operation and fire extinguishing by means of the firefighting equipment in a WTG.

The ‘Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Associated Industrial Services Occupations (Construction) Passive Fire Protection’ is appropriate for individuals aged 16 and over working in the construction sector who specialise in passive fire protection activity within their job role and are looking to become eligible for the Blue CSCS Card. Upon completion of the qualification, you will be awarded the Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Associated Industrial Services Occupations (Construction) Passive Fire Protection . Delegates will develop knowledge of the requirements for the design, installation and commissioning of Fire Detection and Fire Alarm systems within domestic properties in compliance with the requirements of BS 5839-6 and other codes of practice.

All organisations are legally required to have at least one designated Fire Warden. It's also common sense, given that every year there are nearly 20,000 commercial fires in the UK. The qualification is aimed at all staff, particularly new starters in any wAll staff should, at the very least, receive a basic level of fire safety training, so that all are prepared in the event of a fire. A more comprehensive level of training would be required by designated fire marshals, which are compulsory in every workplace.
