Freestyle Flooring Sustainability & SelecTech Here at SelecTech, we believe we have the power to make a change in the world of construction. And starting out as a recycling organization gives us a bit of an edge. We figured out how to make a desirable product – high quality, easy to install flooring – out of a material that can’t always be reused. By using recycled material and a less harmful method of installation, our flooring systems can save the planet, as well as your time and money. In a world of heavy consumerism, sometimes it can be hard to take a step back and really evaluate the effects your purchases have on the environment. But with SelecTech, you don’t have to worry. Our line of flooring is made with material that’s already here, so we don’t have to worry as much about the impact of production. Additionally, their durability means you won’t have to purchase new flooring, further decreasing their carbon footprint. LEED Qualifications What does it mean to be “LEED”? You’ve probably seen plaques boasting this outside of newer buildings. LEED – Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design – is a set of guidelines established by the US Green Business Green Business Council to encourage greener practices in construction. Organizations can earn LEED “points” by performing various tasks in different areas, including Sustainable Sites, Water Efficiency, Energy & Atmosphere, Materials & Resources, Indoor Environmental Quality, and LEED Innovation. By installing SelecTech flooring, you’ll earn points in the Materials & Resources category, with potential for Innovation in the future. Click here to learn more about the specifications for points, and what a LEED Certification could mean for you.

One of the main focuses School of Coding has is the sustainability of the planet. Sustainability is fundamental to the survival of our planet as well as ourselves. It is important as polluted land, air and water will severely affect our quality of life and the ability of larger societies and the local communities to thrive. School of Coding protects the environment as we have been actively focusing on reducing our plastic usage including the use of single-use plastic, recycling and using less energy in the office in efforts to integrate sustainability considerations into all our business decisions. Heritage is a person’s uniqueness and inherited sense of identity: the values, traditions, culture and artefacts handed down from previous generations. We recognise the importance of heritage as it gives an individual a sense of singular and communal identity. School of Coding focuses on running projects around BAME communities to ensure that they have an equal chance of finding work opportunities as we believe it’s crucial that everyone is seen for their talent regardless of their background, socioeconomics status and beliefs. Digitalization has allowed School of Coding to improve the quality of their education through techniques such as online classes. School of Coding provides education using digitalization to give their students transferable skills which will provide them with equal opportunities as to be successful in the workplace of the future, people will need to have the right digital education. This will give those who are unemployed the chance to learn new skills and be able to be at the same levels as those around them.

Welcome to St Hubert’s Pre-School at Warley Baptist Church, where we want every child to be inspired to grow, play, learn and develop by providing your child with a safe, nurturing, holistic and caring environment for children ages 2-4 years old. We pride ourselves in ensuring your child gets the very best, to enhance their learning whilst in our care and this is reflected in our recent Ofsted inspection, where we have been classed as OUTSTANDING with the following comments. Leadership is inspirational. The management team demonstrates an uncompromising commitment towards achieving excellence in all areas. Self-evaluation is highly reflective and continuous, reviewing all areas of practice to identify more-successful ways of working. Leaders demonstrate an excellent capacity to maintain this quality over time. Staff have an excellent knowledge and understanding about how children learn and develop. They attend a variety of training courses meticulously matched to the learning needs of the children they care for. This strong focus on developing the skills and knowledge of staff results in all children making exceptional progress in their learning and development in relation to their starting points, The key-person system is embedded effectively in practice and staff are highly effective in supporting children’s emotional well-being, particularly when they first start and when they move from room to room within the playgroup. Children thrive at this welcoming, all-inclusive provision. Close attachments between the children and the staff are obvious. Children’s behaviour is exceptional. The manager and staff accurately monitor children’s development to highlight any areas where they might need extra support. They quickly help them to catch up if needed. The manager also looks at different groups of children to see if the setting can make improvements to support those particular cohorts.

Navigating Neurodiversity

navigating neurodiversity

London

The European Agency on the Development of Special Needs Education (EADSNE) (2006) highlighted individual differences as one of the largest challenges faced by teachers in mainstream schools not only in the UK but across Europe. Teacher training and preparation to support neurodiverse pupils within a mainstream setting has failed to keep up with the changes within the field of inclusion leaving teachers ill equipped to achieve true inclusivity within their classroom. The most recent study of mainstream teachers within the West Midlands highlighted that less than 29% of teachers felt confident to support the neurodiverse pupils within their class with 17% unsure of the meaning of Neurodiversity. Navigating Neurodiversity provides hands-on training and support for mainstream schools to improve teacher confidence when supporting the neurodiverse pupils within their classroom. To provide advice and guidance of ensuring barriers to learning within the classroom/school are permanently removed and providing ongoing intervention and support strategies, including de-escalation techniques to provide and happy, safe and inclusive environment which best supports learning for all pupils. We also work with leadership team, including SENCo, providing support, advice, planning and assessment documentation throughout the EHCP application process to ensure a successful outcome is achieved with maximum support gained for learners with SEN. Book Now What is Neurodiversity? Neurodiversity is the term to show the diverse way of the way the brain functions, specifically the range of ways in which we learn, think and relate to others (Honeybourne 2018). The neurodiversity paradigm argues that there is not one ‘normal’ way in which the brain functions. Originating within the study of autism to show that there was no ‘norm’ with regard to learning and social interaction and that autism was not a disorder, neurodiversity is now the term used to include all perceived neurological differences including dyscalculia, dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD and Tourette syndrome and supports the theory that no set way of neurocognitive functioning is more important/normal than the other and that differences in learning should be supported and embraced.
