A modular "hybrid" venepuncture course - eLearning (online) theory and one full day classroom based course.
On completion awards a Nationally Recognised and Accredited Certificate in Phlebotomy.
 
PART 1 - THEORY
Complete this part of your course online (eLearning Course) in the comfort of your own home or workplace.
Please allow approx. 5-7 hours to complete this part of your course. You do not need to complete Part 1 in a single "sitting", and can log on/off to complete as and when convenient to you.
 
You should complete Part 1 before attending Part 2 below.
 
PART 2 - CLASSROOM
Attend the second day of our two day course in the classroom at the training location that you have selected.
Your classroom tutor will recap on the theory element (above) after which you will begin your practical sessions learning and developing the skills required up to the point of Live Blood Draws.

Keeping Safe. Bloodborne pathogens and work practice
controls. Standard Precautions. Waste disposal.
Needle-stick injuries and how to avoid.
 
M06: Blood Collection Systems:
A detailed look at three blood collection systems and
associated equipment.
 
M07: Anatomy and Physiology:
An overview of the integumentary system and cardio-
vascular system. Understanding veins, arteries, capillaries and nerves, and their locations.
 
M08: Blood Composition:
A detailed look at the composition of blood. Routine tests on whole blood and routine tests on serum and plasma, including profiles.
 
M09: Using the Equipment:
A detailed look at one blood collection system (Vacutainer), including standard and butterfly needles and all associated equipment. A comparison of Vacutainer with Monovette and respective merits. Sterilisation processes. Bottle types and handling. Coagulants and anticolagulants.

This is a 4-day course where students will be exploring sci-fi stories. 🚀
👽 The children will be analysing engaging sci-fi stories and discussing characters, settings and plots.
👽 Students will also create their own imaginative sci-fi settings, and design their own alien!
It will be a fantastic opportunity for children to build their confidence and skills in writing, all while having fun!

How will you learn?
Apart of our traditional class-based tuition, we also offer Virtual Learning courses.
On our Virtual (live stream via Zoom) lessons, we provide the same quality of tuition as in the classroom. You only need a laptop, PC or tablet with either built in (or external) camera and microphone. The virtual platform is very interactive with a sense of real classroom at the Academy. You will study from the comfort of your own home and communicate with your tutor and classmates via video chat (by using your phone or computer camera) and you will receive outstanding tuition, qualification, and certification.
We provide A-Z guidance starting from before and after the course. Your tutor will guide you through the online course to graduation which you will be welcome to attend. What a joy it would be to meet your tutor and classmates in real life!!
