Hi, I am both a qualified commercial and domestic heating engineer with 40 years experience in the field. I set up an independent heating design consultancy in 2014 after designing & installing plant rooms & systems for most of my career ( www.robberridge.co.uk ) and am now fully engaged with this and my heat calculation software company with two other directors. After coming off the tools for some six years now and designing many plant rooms and systems for my new clients, I bring a unique perspective that bridges the often large gap between installation engineers and architects/building services engineers. Offering fully scaled CAD drawings, specifications and tender documents that all parties fully understand has kept me really busy and my life, 'interesting'. I also offer training courses in building heat loss, system calculation and specification to which I partner with IMI-Hydronics. My main focus is system design and efficiency, whatever the heat source or fuel type and I have no personal affiliation with any. #BeaPro

The common echo that Ben leaves in his wake seems to be “Aha! I finally GET Photoshop!” What’s the key to truly understanding Photoshop? Ben believes that it’s crucial to wrap your mind around the core concepts of a feature and understand why that feature is important before getting into the technical end of it. In teaching seemingly-complicated techniques, he relates the concepts to everyday knowledge (like dimmer switches for lighting – See video below) so the mind can connect them to something it already understands.

Abbeywood Community School Improvement Committee The Trust Governors at Abbeywood Community School work closely with the school’s Senior Leadership Team and Staff to develop the vision and aims of the school community. They seek to raise standards and achievement through the appropriate use of all available resources. The Governors’ responsibilities are to: Provide strategic direction for the work and improvement of the school. Support, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the school. Ensure accountability for standards and quality of education in the school. Governance is assessed by OFSTED in its Leadership and Management judgement about the school and so is an integral part of the running of the school. The School Improvement Committee consists of people from a variety of backgrounds who represent different areas of the school and local community. Each Trust Governor is appointed for a four year term with all their work being done on a voluntary basis. Currently our Trust Governors have extensive experience in Education, Business, Engineering and Technology. Governors meet as a full team at six meetings during the school year but as well as having a commitment to attend these meetings, Governors will also meet with students and parents, carry out Governor walks around the school, monitor the school improvement agenda, and meet with staff.
