Our 8 hour course will enable students to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations when looking after children. In addition to the topics covered on an emergency first aid at work course, this course covers treatment for a variety of injuries and medical conditions. Qualification Information Upon completion students will have developed the skills and knowledge needed to provide effective emergency first aid to children and babies. This qualification and learning outcomes are based on the recommendations of: The Resuscitation Council (UK) Skills for Health Assessment Principles for First Aid Qualifications Course Content Following this course students will be able to Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider. Be able to provide first aid for an infant and a child who is choking. Be able to assess an emergency situation safely. Be able to provide first aid to an infant and a child with external bleeding. Be able to provide first aid for an infant and a child who is unresponsive and breathing normally. Be able to provide first aid to an infant and a child who is suffering from shock. Be able to provide first aid for an infant and a child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally. Understand how to administer first aid to an infant and a child with bites, stings and minor injuries. Who should attend? This qualification is for anyone who cares for children and babies; including parents, guardians, grandparents or people who have a professional involvement with children and babies. Pre-requisites Students must be at least 16 years old on the first day of training. Assessment and Certifications Assessment of this course is continuous and also includes 1 theory/multiple choice question paper. Successful students will receive an Immerse Training Certificate, which is valid for three years. This certificate will be issued by Qualsafe, the awarding body for Immerse Training. Additional Information Completion of the Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid at Work includes 1 credit at Level 2 of the Qualification Credit Framework (QCF). The qualification is aimed at learners already working or preparing to work in industry that is identified within the company's risk assessment of First Aid. The qualification has a recommended course duration of 3 days; however the course duration may be increased to meet additional learning needs if required but not reduced.

Renewing your SIA license in the UK is a mandatory requirement. To achieve license renewal, you must complete the SIA Top-Up Training along with Emergency First Aid Training. Security Guards are required to undergo a 1-day training program, while Door Supervisors must complete a 2-day training program. In total, the renewal process entails completing both the SIA Top-Up Training and the First Aid course. The SIA Top-Up Training typically spans 2 days for full completion. Important Things You Should Know FAQ SIA Top Up Training Course Why do I need the SIA Top Up Training Course for a Door Supervisor Licence? It is now mandatory to complete the Top-Up Door Supervisor training to renew your license. Effective from 1st April 2021, the SIA introduced new critical safety components to enhance license holder qualifications. The Top-Up Door Supervisor Training has been introduced to ensure that existing Door Supervisor and Security Guard license holders attain the same qualification level as newly qualified individuals. The aim is to align the skills of those renewing licenses with the standards applied to new license holders since 1st April 2021, when these regulations were updated Do I need an SIA Top-up training course for a Security Guard licence as well? Yes, if you currently hold an SIA Security Guard license, you will be required to complete a 1-Day SIA Top-Up Training. Starting from 1st October 2021, one of the following conditions must be met before applying for or renewing your license: The Top-Up Door Supervisor Training has been introduced to ensure that existing Door Supervisor and Security Guard license holders attain the same qualification level as newly qualified individuals. The aim is to align the skills of those renewing licenses with the standards applied to new license holders since 1st April 2021, when these regulations were updated What will the SIA top-up training course include? Security Guard license holders will need to complete an additional one-day top-up training. This top-up training will encompass modules on Terror Threat Awareness and Minimizing Personal Risk for Security Officers. As part of the SIA’s updated requirements, license holders are also mandated to hold an Emergency First Aid Certificate. To renew your license, you must either demonstrate that you have at least 12 months left before the expiration of any existing first aid certificate or attend an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification or its equivalent, before participating in any top-up training The Top-Up Door Supervisor Training has been introduced to ensure that existing Door Supervisor and Security Guard license holders attain the same qualification level as newly qualified individuals. The aim is to align the skills of those renewing licenses with the standards applied to new license holders since 1st April 2021, when these regulations were updated Document Checks Proof of Identity You will need to provide documents that prove you are who you say you are. Address history You need to provide two proofs of address. Bank or building society statement issued within the last three months. Utility bill issued within the last three months. A credit card statement was sent to your current address within the last three months. Council Tax statement issued in the last 12 months. Mortgage statement issued in the last 12 months. Age You must be 18 or over to hold an SIA licence. Criminal record Please be aware, that even if you pass the SIA door supervisor, you will still need to pass SIA criminal record checks. If you live outside the UK, or you have spent 6 continuous months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, you need to provide evidence of overseas criminal record checks to the SIA. SIA will only issue a licence after completing background checks.  Right to work in the UK You must have the right to work in the UK to get a front-line or non-front-line licence.
