Pet Gun Dog Foundation Course Level 1 For Pet Gun Dogs aged 5 months upwards.

Fully qualified, positive Dog Behaviourist based in Claygate, Surrey. I offer one to one Private Dog Consultations in your home, a full report, Behaviour Modification Plan and possible vet referral for all types of dog behaviour issues and specialise in foreign rescue dogs.

On this course we go into far greater detail on understanding the dog’s needs, behaviour, state of mind, language, and improving your leadership skills.

With our natural, humane and effective methods of training dogs, you will find just as many of our clients have before you, that Dog Training doesn't need to be difficult or stressful. Dog & puppy training is something magical and fulfilling for both you and your dogs. The owner is fully qualified and Kennel Club accredited, She is also affiliated to the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers.

Behavioural Foundation Course. The foundation course is a great opportunity to learn about your dog’s needs.

Set your puppy up to a brilliant start with all the basic training a dog needs. The course includes problem solving common puppy and dog struggles and how to prevent these. A training guide is provided for each lesson with video tutorials.

Training for your dog. Whether they're starting from scratch, need a little refresher or a require a full boot-camp, my proven methods will bring you swift and permanent results.

This course is designed to provide you with the required skills to either become employed in a dog grooming environment or set up your own grooming business.  At an appropriate time during your training, you will be given the option to pursue a nationally accredited qualification in addition to those detailed above. You may, of course, choose to complete the training only and not gain a qualification other than the ones included. The course will cover: The preparation, styling and finishing of dogs Preparation for practical assessments Theory study support Students will receive all course materials and it is recommended that students bring along a camera for before and after photographs as well as pens, high-lighters and notepads. COURSE LENGTH: 20 Days consisting of our Salon Assistant Course (below) plus an additional 12 days of clipping and styling training

In private individual lessons, I aim to demonstrate, and help you learn, that we can communicate effectively with our dogs during our daily lives. For dogs we primarily do this with reward-based training and the use of resources and consequences of actions, for both the dog and yourself. We will also discover that it is ok to ask the dog not to do certain things, but in a non-aggressive way, to help the dogs understand what we don’t consider acceptable. We will further find that we can either encourage or suppress certain behaviours with positive and negative reinforcement and affirmatively communicate with dogs. The initial 1-hour consultation and lesson will usually occur at my premises near Lumphanan, so we can discuss and practice in a neutral, controlled environment. During this session I take the time to understand you, your dog and your needs. I also conduct training and address any behavioural issues. We often solve many of the common problems in this initial session. If needed, subsequent training can take place at my premises or a location that suits the issues - such as your home or a public place. The types of issues that I commonly help with are; Pulling on the lead Reactive behaviour when walking your dog on a lead - either over excitement or fear aggression Dog recall issues. Jumping up and bad manners with visitors and family members Excessive barking. Toilet training problems. Excessive 'mouthing' or biting. Stealing food or other objects. Anything else!

Owners Maintenance Courses are ran on the first Tuesday of every month (subject to availability) and are designed for those who want to gain a very basic understanding of grooming and maintaining their own dog between professional grooming appointments. You will need to bring along your own dog to work on for the day. The course will cover: Correct and safe grooming procedures prior to bathing Safe and pain-free matt removal using appropriate products, tools and equipment Correct and safe bathing and drying techniques Nail and ear care How to safely maintain your dog’s coat between their salon visits. Students will receive all course materials and it is recommended that students bring along a camera for before and after photographs as well as pens, high-lighters and notepads.
