Filament was developed with support from Torbay’s Great Place Scheme as part of its building resilience strand and enabling new models of governance work. Through 2019, Eyeview worked with artists and communities, developing site-specific commissions, participatory projects and community actions. Through this, we saw a need for an agile producing house that could work imaginatively with communities to produce impactful work with the independence to flex, experiment and think sideways. Our focus is to produce work that builds a more resilient, diverse and progressive cultural ecology, supporting individuals, communities and place. We do this through: Developing place-based collaborations with communities; Shaping new cultural programmes; Co-creating interventions that tackle specific challenges for people and place; Producing artist-led initiatives; Supporting networks, skills and capacity-building. At the centre of this work is an ongoing enquiry that asks how we can encourage and enable the diverse and indigenous culture of a place to continually shape its own distinct sense of identity. We believe that by democratising and integrating the working methods of artists, communities can collectively problem-solve, imagine new possibilities, and together build community wealth.

Serve On is a humanitarian response charity whose dedicated volunteers help communities in their hour of need, at home or abroad. Serve On was set up to give new purpose to former military personnel, but Serve On is not just for veterans. Our selfless volunteers are from all walks of life and of all ages, from 14 to 65+, from emergency services responders to carpenters, nurses, students, office workers, electricians and many others. Our volunteers use their experience and skills not only to create highly-trained rescue teams – like the International Response Team (IRT), Community Resilience Teams (CRTs), Rescue Rookies and Dog Rescue Team - but to mentor young, marginalised or disadvantaged members of their community. WELLBEING IN THE WOODS Support groups and projects for adult Mental Health. Join us in the woods and experience the benefits of time spent connecting with Nature. Elements of Forest Bathing and Forest School for adults combine with being part of a small community to support wellbeing. Now includes Woodcraft for Wellbeing, a 6 week course for adults experiencing mild to moderate mental ill-health. Designed by a multi-disciplinary team of Therapists, Clinical Psychologists and Wellbeing Practitioners, this course is delivered under licence by a Therapeutic Forest CIC Approved Practitioner who has received additional training and on-going support. We welcome referrals from Social Prescribers and community support groups as well as self referrals. Forest Therapy (also known as Forest Bathing or Shinrin Yoku) is a gentle sensory process that brings healing through connection to the Forest/Nature and has been scientifically proven to enhance physical and emotional well-being, reduce stress, support the immune system and restore focus. Therapeutic Forest School for children and young people with additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, Looked after Children and Young Carers. The focus is on stress reduction and resilience building through playful connection with Nature and each other.

As Scouts, we believe in preparing Swindon’s young people with skills for life. We encourage our young people to do more, learn more and be more…… Each week, we give over 460,000 young people the opportunity to enjoy fun and adventure while developing the skills they need to succeed. We’re talking about teamwork, leadership and resilience – skills that have helped Scouts become everything from teachers and social workers to astronauts and Olympians. There are Scouts aged 6-25 meeting all over the area – not only throughout Swindon, but also in Wanborough, Chiseldon, Wroughton, Wootton Bassett, Brinkworth, Highworth, Blunsdon and Ashton Keynes. So whether you want to sign your child up for a space or are interested in volunteering with us, we’d love to hear from you. We have two Scout Districts covering Swindon and the surrounding area: Swindon Ridgeway and Swindon North. Each district contains around 12 individual Scout groups. Over recent years, the number of Scouts has grown significantly. Wood Knoydart is a social enterprise and branch of Knoydart Forest Trust, the community woodland charity that manages woodland on the remote peninsula of Knoydart. Our woodland is a resource and catalyst in building the resilience of our community and, the local and global environment. The WK brand was launched in 2014 to use and showcase our local timber, to invest in local livelihoods and pay back into the regeneration of Knoydart’s woodlands as well as combating the world's climate crisis. The collective skills of our makers, Kristy, Johann & Lorna, result in the design and production of aesthetically pleasing, tactile and functional pieces. We are a tiny community but we have the potential to make a big difference, you can be part of the change by buying our products.
