She has been teaching complete beginners the art of diy fashion and eco-sewing since 2009. After realising the horrendous environmental impact of fashion she started her masterclass workshops at The Fashion Factory, for 8-16 year olds as an antidote to fast fashion. “ I saw an increase in social media use & the reduction of practical & creative subjects in schools. Many children are missing out on life skills, creativity, dexterity & the ability to focus. I felt I had to do something” “My eco-sewing programme focuses on learning via upcycling unwanted textiles into cool new stuff. The products & video lessons are designed to keep young people engaged and coming back for more. I’ve ripped up the sewing rule books and introduced a new way of learning this hugely rewarding life skill.” Her students have appeared in Vogue, in the Fashion Factory book (Amazon) & many have gone on to study for creative careers. She was selected as a top 100 changemaker in 2021 by the Big Issue.
The Need for Metrics - Measuring the Ongoing Value of a Project Establishing metrics that measure the project´s value, both during execution and at the end of the project, is critical. Also, the true value of the project may not be known until well after the project has been completed. Executives, clients and stakeholders today are re-thinking the definition of project success. While time and cost considerations are still important, emphasis must also be placed upon the value that the project will deliver. Establishing metrics that measure the project's value, both during execution and upon completion, is critical. The true value of the project may not be known until well after the project has been completed. Each value metric is project-specific and requires different value attributes as selected by the project manager, client, and stakeholders, at the onset of the project. Bear in mind, it is possible that agreement on the value metric(s) may not be reached. In such cases, different value metrics may be required for each individual dashboard audiences. In the near future, each project team will have a specialist assigned with expertise in dashboard design. This and other IIL Learning in Minutes presentations qualify for PDUs. Real-World Use Cases for AI In this session, we'll look at the impact of several recent developments in Artificial Intelligence (AI) including the areas of computer vision, language understanding, and reinforcement learning on our ability to more effectively carry out projects. We'll also dive into real-world use cases where these breakthroughs are being applied to improve our ability to get things done through better communication and collaboration, information processing, and decision making. This and other IIL Learning in Minutes presentations qualify for PDUs. Some titles, such as Agile-related topics may qualify for other continuing education credits such as SEUs, or CEUs. Each professional development activity yields one PDU for one hour spent engaged in the activity. Some limitations apply and can be found in the Ways to Earn PDUs section that discusses PDU activities and associated policies. Fractions of PDUs may also be reported. The smallest increment of a PDU that can be reported is 0.25. This means that if you spent 15 minutes participating in a qualifying PDU activity, you may report 0.25 PDU. If you spend 30 minutes in a qualifying PDU activity, you may report 0.50 PDU.
Reinventing Project Management Now! Projects are taking up a more and more prominent role within organizations and the economy as a whole. Simultaneously, the skill set demanded of project management professionals is changing, too. Recently, Gartner claimed that 80% of today's project management tasks will be eliminated by 2030 as Artificial Intelligence takes over. This statistic alone is an indicator that the project management profession will undergo profound changes in the next decade, if not earlier, and we should see this as a call for action to redefine the future of our profession. This session, founded upon some of the latest research conducted in collaboration with HBR, will explore the challenges that the project management profession is facing both from a methodological point of view, as well as the disruptions that are already impacting us, such as AI, robots, and blockchain. If we act now, project management will become one of the most sought-after competencies by organizations in the new world. Understand the disruption that the project management profession is about to face Learn new and simpler project management concepts that will help us become the profession of the future Understand the skills and competencies needed to be successful in the project economy This and other IIL Learning in Minutes presentations qualify for PDUs. Some titles, such as Agile-related topics may qualify for other continuing education credits such as SEUs, or CEUs.
