The City and Guilds 2391-50 electrical course has been designed to meet the needs of the electrical installation industry, and is aimed at practising electricians who have not carried out inspection and testing since qualifying or who require some update of training before going on to other City and Guilds qualifications. Candidates who achieve the City and Guilds 2391-50 qualification could progress on to the City and Guilds 2391-51: the Level 3 Certificate in Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations. The City and Guilds 2391-50 course will focus on the teaching and learning of initial verification and certification of electrical installations. In order to claim the full City and Guilds 2391-50 qualification, students must successfully complete: One 1 hour 30 minute online multiple choice test to be completed during the courseOne 3 hour 30 minute practical test to be completed after the course, broken into two sections as follows:Task A – Initial Verification and Certification of the Complete Installation – 2hrs and 30minsTask B – Short Answer Questions – 1hr To further support this course, we offer a 1 day practical workshop (at the cost of £120.00 Net VAT) available to candidates who have completed the course and require further ‘hands on’ practical experience prior to their practical exam. This course will develop knowledge from the FD&FA foundation BS 5839-1 module and/or industry experience and apply this to the design of FD&FA systems.

City & Guilds 2391-52 Combined Course: Course Description The new Testing and Inspection City & Guilds 2391-52 Combined Course qualification replaces and is improved on the former 2394/2395 that was previously available to electricians but has since been withdrawn. City & Guilds 2391-52 course runs over five consecutive days, the first three days covering fundamental theory. The fourth day covering Initial Verification practical and revision. The fifth day of the City & Guilds 2391-52 course covering Periodic Inspection practical and revision with an open book 2 hours Multiple choice exam. A 5 day City & Guilds 2391-52 course for a student possessing knowledge of the wiring regulations and with minimal knowledge of inspection and testing, We strongly recommend City and Guilds 2382 is achieved prior to sitting this course, though this is NOT an entry requirement. In order to claim the full City & Guilds 2391-52 qualification, students must successfully complete the following: Completed during the course each student will sit a 2 hours online Multiple choice exam (open book) Then will have to reattend and complete a Practical Assessment which is 4hrs. LOOKING FOR: MG, YA, ADULT FICTION, ADULT NON-FICTION, NON-FICTION FOR 7+ Megan Carroll is looking for writers in a variety of areas, and from a wide range of backgrounds – she is particularly keen to hear from Black, Asian, and LGBTQIA+ writers. Her main areas of focus this year are adult fiction and non-fiction, as well as non-fiction for 7+, and MG and YA fiction. In Fiction, Megan is keen to see high-concept love stories (think The Flat Share or The Lock In) for both commercial and reading group readers. She’d love to see those familiar romance tropes – enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, love triangles, forbidden love etc. – with underrepresented characters at the centre. She is also looking for historical fiction and gothic horror (think Laura Purcell, Stacey Halls and Silvia Moreno-Garcia) – anything that has a creepy, uneasy undertone is likely for Megan’s list. Megan is also actively looking for upmarket fiction and would love to see layered family drama, contemporary stories about life today and darkly comic novels that explore a specific time, place or experience. In Non-Fiction, Megan is keen to hear from experts in their field talking about topics relating to film, music, true crime, popular culture, history and issues from largely unrepresented perspectives. She is keen to see memoir, narrative non-fiction and essay collections. In Children’s and YA, she is keen to see contemporary YA with humour, and romance at the heart – fun and emotional stories that appeal to the interests and issues of the teenage readers. She’d also love to see thrillers and horror stories for this age group too. It’s unlikely that high fantasy novels for YA readers will be right for her, but she is keen to see stories with fantasy elements in a real world setting. On the younger end, Megan is looking for funny, contemporary middle grade – think Louise Rennison and Karen McCombie – and anything creepy and spooky for 8-12 year old readers too. She’d love to find something like Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events and is keen to find original adventure stories in both fantasy and realistic settings. Megan would like you to submit a covering letter, 1 page synopsis and the first three chapters or 5,000 words of your manuscript in a single word document.
