Hummingbird Tuition was set up in 2000 by Anne Kitchin who is a qualified and experienced primary and SEN teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching in schools and working as a private tutor and educator. Our company specialises in working with children with dyslexia, ADD, ADHD and ASD. We use methods that make sense to these creative and very imaginative learners, using visual techniques to learn to read, since phonics does not generally work for them. Pupils learn to picture texts to make them easy to understand and to visualise spellings so they can remember them. We use similar techniques in maths, to make maths easy as well.

Throughout the year our students take part in a number of public dance displays providing them with ample opportunity to have fun and perform. We host an annual show where students get to perform in front of a large audience, this gives them great confidence and also is a time where friends and family can come together and enjoy seeing the students perform their dancing skills.
