Our Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) refresher training courses, available both online and in-person, are designed for managers and individuals in positions of authority who completed their original SMSTS training program less than three years ago. Aims Participants will undertake a concise yet equally engaging training program covering all essential aspects of enforcing health and safety codes of practice at construction sites. Topics include in-depth discussions on risk assessments and effective methods for monitoring and managing industry-specific hazards. Instructions For online courses labeled “Remote Learning,” a tutor will deliver the training via video call. All SMSTS courses are delivered and assessed in English. The 2 Day F Gas renewal course covers changes to the original F Gas Regulation which came in to effect in January 2015. The 2 Day course is designed for those that have completed their initial F-Gas Certificate, and have continued to work in the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration industry but feel that they would benefit from some of the refresher training prior to taking the assessments. P402 Surveying and sampling strategies for asbestos in buildings is the industry standard qualification for asbestos surveyors. In addition to holding the qualification, asbestos surveyors are required to undertake and provide evidence of annual refresher training.

P404 Air Sampling of Asbestos and MMMF and Requirements for a Certificate of Reoccupation Following Clearance of Asbestos is the industry standard qualification for those whose work involves air sampling and clearance testing, such as asbestos analysts. In addition to holding the qualification, they are required to undertake and provide evidence of annual refresher training. RP404 Refresher is a new course, specifically designed to meet this requirement. RP404 Refresher enables candidates to revise and update their knowledge on air sampling and clearance testing techniques, and to receive a certificate of course completion by passing a written examination, which covers both the theory and practice of air sampling and clearance testing.

P405 Managing Asbestos in Buildings is the industry standard qualification for those whose work involves asbestos management, such as duty holders and building managers. In addition to holding the qualification, they are required to undertake and provide evidence of annual refresher training. RP405 Refresher is a new course, specifically designed to meet this requirement. RP405 Refresher enables candidates to revise and update their knowledge on good asbestos management practices, and to receive a certificate of course completion by passing a written examination, which covers both the theory and practice of managing asbestos in buildings.

Previously, BOHS provided two Refresher courses for this purpose: P402RM (Management) and P402RRD (Refurbishment and Demolition). This new course, RP402 Refresher - Surveying and Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings, replaces P402RM and P402RRD. RP402 Refresher enables candidates to revise and update their knowledge on all types of asbestos surveys, and to receive a certificate of course completion by passing a written examination, which covers both the theory and practice of surveying for asbestos in buildings.
