The BA (Hons) in Business Management with a Foundation Year, in collaboration with Leeds Trinity University, spans four years and is designed to empower students with the necessary academic skills and tools for confident study. This course presents the role of the care worker using demonstrations of good and bad practices. It includes information on Core Values, Code of Conduct, and Continual Professional Development. This subject forms Standard 1 of the Care Certificate.

Person-centred approaches are a core skills framework that articulates what it means to be person-centred and how to develop and support the workforce to work in this way. Developed in partnership with Skills for Health and Skills for Care, the Framework aims to distil best practices and to set out core, transferable behaviours, knowledge and skills. It is applicable across services and sectors and across different types of organisations. Person-centred approaches underpins existing dementia, learning disabilities, mental health and end of life care core skills frameworks. This subject forms standard 5 in The Care Certificate.

This course is suited to those who are involved in the planning, provision, and assistance of meals for those in care. It provides a solid insight into the basics of good nutrition as well as providing practical guidance for how to put these into practice within a care setting. Learners will also look briefly at Food Hygiene. This subject forms standard 8 in The Care Certificate.

The smartphone video course will be led by Paul Curran who has many years experience producing, filming and editing films and videos, for the BBC and corporate clients.

Private German Lessons Private German lessons are ideal for busy professionals wanting to learn German. We teach German in-person at offices and homes and can start throughout the year. Flexible lesson timings from week to week allow our German lessons to fit into a busy schedule. Our beginner, intermediate and advanced German lessons cover comprehension, speaking, reading, writing, vocabulary build-up and grammar. We assess every student’s level and aptitude before starting. Lessons will then progress at their pace, and we structure our German courses towards industry and profession. One-to-One German Lessons Every student benefits from one designated private German tutor. Tutor-continuity ensures good rapport and enables the tutor to consider the student’s strengths and abilities. We recommend one-to-one German lessons twice a week with sufficient time between lessons for self-study and homework for rapid progress. Beginners should have a basic understanding of German after a few sittings. Returning learners will find their German fluency and confidence rapidly improving. German Language Lessons Being independent of the academic year means starting at any time. Students can adjust lesson timings on a week-to-week basis.
