SIA Door Supervisor Training with Free First Aid

This set of 6 morning workshops (over 6 weeks) is designed to allow you the opportunity to explore a wide range of techniques to create beautifully unique fused glass jewellery & decorative objects. After a brief introduction to the historical context and language of fused glass you will be guided through using techniques such as scoring, cutting £0& layering sheet & accessory glass, adding mica or oxide powders to create sparkle and bubbles, use of kiln carving to create subtle textures, using inclusions of wire & precious metal foils and painting or stencilling with 'glassline' paints etc. you will create at least 2 pieces per session and these will be fired and ready to add finishing touches on the subsequent session ( pieces made during the final date will be fired & finished and ready for collection after 7 days) we will mainly focus on jewellery but larger items can be made eg.  Come along and join in the festive spirit. In this workshop you will be making a luxury Xmas wreath, start by making a large  round base from freshly harvested willow you can then build your wreath using a combination of different greenery, dried oranges, lime, grapefruit, apple, star anise, cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, fir cones, juniper, holly, ivy and much more. Your wreath will smell and look fabulous. Festive snacks and a glass of mulled wine  included.

The five day National Vocational Beach Lifeguard Qualification (NVBLQ) will provide the learner with the knowledge and skills required in order to provide professional patrolling and water services, in surf conditions, with rescue skills and advanced fitness requirements. Many aspects of the course are physically demanding and WILL include running, swimming to set times and some lifting. This award is comprised of a variety of units and all must be successfully passed to attain the qualification.

This 6 to 7 day programme is for you if you are interested in working in the expanding job market of the security sector and includes gaining the Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry Award level 2 Once you have gained this award, you can then go on to register as a Door Supervisor and purchase your SIA badge and license. The programme includes a wide range of learning opportunities that support you by achieving nationally recognised qualifications including health safety, equality diversity, conflict resolution as well as employability and interview skills to support your future career. What You’ll Learn You will undertake the following units: Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Working within the Private Security Industry Conflict Management within the Private Security Industry Physical Intervention Skills within the Private Security Industry Entry Requirements Must be 19 and over before August. Must be unemployed and looking for work. Must have a clean DBS How you will be assessed Your knowledge and understanding will be assessed using the assessment methods. Where possible your assessor will integrate knowledge outcomes into practical observations through oral questioning.

We use both kit style laser engravers and professional CO2 laser cutters throughout our workshop, so you can try lots of materials and techniques in both 2D and 3D. Our one-to-one sessions are designed to help you get started on your own projects, even if you don’t know anything about lasering. We’ll teach you the software, cover what materials work best for different techniques, and give you ideas for things to try out at home or in your studio.
