This one day course is SQA SCQF Level 6 accredited and satisfies the requirements of the new HSE qualification “Emergency First Aider in the Workplace”. This qualification gives your employees skills in basic first aid treatment, providing care for low level incidents right through to life-preserving techniques in the event of an emergency. Content includes learning how to deal with: Wounds Burns Stroke Shock Choking CPR Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) This qualification allows the successful trainee to act as your appointed person within the workplace, and take charge of any first aid arrangements, including equipment and facilities. If the work environment is small and fairly low risk, or if the workplace is larger but the employee would be providing support to the Named First Aider, then this would provide sufficient information to be able to deal with any likely first aid needs that may arise. The certificate is valid for 3 years. Participants must be age 14 and over.

The First Aid at Work qualification is the most comprehensive of all our first aid qualifications, and covers a wide range of skills which can be used within a workplace first aid situation, including: assessing the scene, managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, heart attacks, choking, head and spinal injuries, fractures, anaphylaxis, plus much more.

This is also the appropriate course for larger low risk workplaces or workplaces who have employees with medical conditions. Assessment Continual assessment is used, combined with a number of observed practical activities and 3 short theoretical assessments, supported by our experienced trainers. Practical Elements - in order to pass the course, you will be required to kneel down on the floor (primary survey), be rolled onto your side (recovery position) and perform 2 mins of rescue breaths and chest compressions (CPR). Paediatric First Aid (12 Hour) Description: This two-day paediatric first aid course focuses on emergency scenarios that face those looking after young children and infants, including day nurseries, private nursery schools, pre-schools, before and after school clubs for children in the early years age group, childminders, parents and carers of children at home. Designed around the needs of all child carers, our paediatric first aid courses place emphasis on dealing with sick or injured children and babies. Our 12 hour course syllabus exceeds the Ofsted Early Years and Childcare Register requirements. Our professional trainers utilise both practical and theory sessions. Learners receive a Paediatric First Aid guide book, a training dressing and a CPR barrier protection device.Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and care of the unconscious requires physical effort.
