Ju Jitsu (originally known as 柔術, jūjutsu) is a Japanese martial art developed by the Samurai as a method of close combat. It's mainly hand-to-hand and focuses heavily upon throwing (and landing), immobilizing, joint locks and choking. Weapons are also closely studied. It's all about technique! At Sei Jou Kai Ju Jitsu technique is key to everything; allowing a much stronger and larger opponent to be effectively immobilised. Fitness, core strength and flexibility are also key features and are an integral part of our training. Want to try and learn? Many people are surprised by what they are capable of. Demand grew and Kate saw the potential for growth, so she started franchising the business in 2015. In 2021, BBC Dragon’s Den star Sara Davies, also saw the huge potential in Mini First Aid and she came on board as an investor and adviser. Mini First Aid is now a multi-award-winning organisation and has almost 70 franchises nationwide. We attended the Mini First Aid class when I was pregnant last year. Fast forward to now and my baby girl is 8months old and my training has just saved her life! My daughter began silently choking on a piece of toast and had started to turn purple, because of my training I remained as calm as can be in that situation and was able to get her in the correct position and give her some black blows and retrieve the nasty culprit. £20 I paid for that course, it was the best £20 I ever spent because my daughter's life is priceless. Our courses have been designed to train individuals to be confident in handling emergency situations from choking to CPR required situations to medical conditions, etc. All of our courses focus on interaction and hands-on skill development. Certified First Aid’s goal is to train more individuals in appropriate First Aid and CPR skills each year. Since 1999, over 200,000 people have been certified or recertified in First Aid and CPR by Certified First Aid. We are a Calgary-based company; however, we offer courses across Alberta.

Allwinds Dog First Aid Ltd was established in November 2018 by qualified veterinary nurse Amanda Williams, with the aim of utilising her vast veterinary nursing skills to deliver professional, accessible courses for dog parents and pet professionals alike. None of us like to think of our dogs in pain or having sustained an injury but should the worst happen, would you know how to help your canine companion? Would you know how to help a dog which was choking or had ingested a poison? We all hope to do the right thing and make the right choices for our dogs to help keep them from illness and injury but accidents do happen and usually when we least expect them. Be prepared and join us on one of our dog first aid courses. Learning even basic dog first aid skills can, in some cases, make the difference between life and death. With an extensive range of topics covered, all courses are taught by Amanda in a relaxed environment with plenty of hands-on, practical elements, allowing those taking part to leave feeling confident if faced with an emergency situation. All courses are fully compliant with The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 and The Animal Welfare Act 2006. CPR skills are taught following the latest RECOVER guidelines. Allwinds is also approved by NARCH (National Association of Registered Canine Hydrotherapists) to deliver courses to its members. Amanda herself is fully insured, DBS checked and a member of the British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA). Amanda continues to routinely work with members of the Royal College of Veterinary surgeons to ensure her skills are kept fully up to date.
