Course Introduction Our Venepuncture and Phlebotomy training equips delegates with the skills and knowledge needed to take blood safely. Please note: this course is for health care professionals and nurses only. About this event Applicable to Nurses, Health Care Assistants and Phlebotomists in primary care, the community, hospitals or nursing homes, this course is interactive and involves a demonstration session on performing blood tests. Our venepuncture training will give delegates the theoretical and practical awareness to undertake a competence assessment framework in the workplace that will deem them competent to take blood safely and appropriately. Each delegate will receive a competence-based framework to allow them to do this. NATIONALLY RECOGNISED AND ACCREDITED FORENSIC SCIENCE COURSE Level Three (advanced), awarding 3 credits. DUAL ACCREDITATION: Awarding Body: Open College Network (OCN Credit4Learning) Awarding Body: CPD (21 CPD Points) A modular "hybrid" forensic science course - eLearning (online) theory and one full day classroom based practical training (Crime Scene Investigations). The practical day covers a wide range of CSI techniques with "hands-on" practical training. On completion awards an OCN Nationally Recognised and Accredited Certificate in Forensic Science. This course is additionally CPD Accredited and also awards 21 CPD points on completion. PART 1 - THEORY Complete this part of your course online (eLearning Course) in the comfort of your own home or workplace. Please allow approx. 6-8 hours to complete the elearning modules. Teaching you how to treat your child should the worst occur Children can be present, though parents will remain responsible for them throughout 2.5 - 3 hr sessions Course Contents: What to do if your child goes unconscious How to check if they are breathing normally or not If they are, how to put them in the recovery position If they are not, how to start CPR and use an AED (defibrillator) What to do if your child were to choke What to do if they were to get burnt How to treat minor injuries (dependent on available time) Past Sessions: Sessions in the past have been paid for by a local charity, enabling parents to access the training for free We're happy to put on sessions for your group, playgroup, charity, or simply for you and your children We're always happy to have little ones come along They can either play around, or join us - they usually prefer to join us and play with the manikins, even trying out CPR!
