Description

NEW DATES AVAILABLE - Whether you're just starting out as a healthcare professional or have been in your job for many years and would like a refresher. This interactive 2-day course will take you through the ins and outs of the 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG).

If submitting payment via CPD funding OR Purchase Order (i.e. not a card payment) - please complete your registration - you can detail payment method in the ‘Billing name' box. Many thanks.

Starting with an introduction to cardiac anatomy, physiology and the electrical conduction system, we will guide delegates through how to perform a 12-lead ECG correctly, including troubleshooting, tips and tricks.

Using clinical examples we will then introduce users to 12-lead ECG interpretation - explaining the key features of sinus rhythm, atrial arrhythmias, heart blocks, bundle branch blocks and ventricular arrhythmias. We'll delve into the changes that can occur during myocardial infarction and ischaemia and how the ECG changes in paediatric patients and in some genetic conditions. Please see below for our full agenda.

The course will be provided by experienced Cardiac Physiologists and Cardiac Clinical Scientists from across Manchester University Foundation Trust - one of the largest tertiary cardiac centres in the UK.

Our course is suitable for all healthcare professionals who use ECGs to monitor their patients whether you're based in primary, secondary or tertiary care. This includes students/ trainees, healthcare associates/ practitioners, nurse practitioners, physician associates, ambulance technicians, paramedics, junior doctors, GPs, consultants, cardiac sonographers, cardiographers, cardiac physiologists and other healthcare scientists that might use ECGs to monitor patients during their procedures.

We have listened to feedback from our previous courses and edited our agenda, which now includes breakout sessions for you to practice what you've learned throughout the two days.

This course can be used for 12 CPD hours.

*Agenda from our Sep 2024 course, subject to minor changes for future courses.
