Everyone shares responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, irrespective of individual roles. This course is for those who have already completed a Level 1 course and need to gain an advanced knowledge of Child Protection, including working towards becoming a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), manager or policy writer. This course is designed for individuals who work with children in either a paid or voluntary capacity. It relates to the issues surrounding safeguarding children by exploring the concepts of "child vulnerability", "child protection" and "significant harm"; coupled with the individual and organisational responsibilities of protecting children from abuse.
This course is developed for staff and volunteers to raise awareness of drug and alcohol misuse issues and are adequately informed and enabled to work effectively with individuals with dependencies.
This course looks at the initial alert and the decision-making process in deciding to make a referral, taking into consideration consent and capacity of the alleged vulnerable adult, keeping them at the centre of the decision-making process. How and who to refer to and the different types of response you could expect.

We will discuss menopause-related nutrition, focus on foods rich in calcium and vitamin D to support bone health, and emphasise the food groups that ensure a high intake of vitamins, minerals, and fibre We will also look at how to include whole grains to promote heart health, which is particularly important as the risk of heart disease increases after menopause and discuss the benefits of soy and soy products, as they contain phytoestrogens, which may help balance hormones. We will have a cooking demonstration as part of the workshop, discuss meal planning and have a Q&A with our nutrition expert At the end of the cooking session we will eat together as a group This event includes sample recipes and a free meal kit to cook at home. £5 per ticket
