Join Harriet Shepard Art at Harbour View Studio in the heart of Compton Acres gardens to make your own coasters using fluid art techniques. A wellness space is created with relaxing scents and sounds for an immersive experience where you can escape from it all in a world of colour and creativity. Children 10 and over who have an interest in art, may come along if accompanied by an arty adult. You will explore two techniques to create 8 coasters, 4 in each style. 1 from the 8 will be selected to be made into printed hardback coasters 3 sets of 4 in a box. 3 Christmas gifts sorted! All skill levels are welcome. The workshop will include: A relaxing welcome and introduction to techniques Preparing to create on tiles Colour combinations Mixology of paints for the 2 techniques CREATION Selection of Coaster for print You will have the option to have the 8 originals presented in a frame as a piece of art at an additional cost. These can not be used as coasters unless they are heat proof resin coated, this is something we are unable to offer in this studio space but can be discussed with Harriet. Fluid art can be a messy business! Please wear suitable cloths or bring aprons / overalls - Its often your feet that get caught out . . . gloves will be provided (latex free). You are welcome to bring your own paints, however I recommend only Amsterdam or Pebeo brands for this style of art. The studio can be chilly, so layers are recommended!
