Taizé is a simple, meditative form of Christian worship, utilising short contemporary chants, prayerful silence, Bible readings to guide the focus of prayer and a candle lit environment. The services call us to dwell deeply on Christ's presence within and among us. The Church of St. John the Baptist Cockayne Hatley is set in beautiful rural countryside, away from busy life. Trauma Informed Practice in Education is a research evidence based whole school systems approach that starts with you. Improved attendance, improved learning outcomes, reduced suspensions and exclusions and better staff recruitment, retention and wellbeing all begin from a place of understanding child development, the impact of adversity on child development and the role of us as educators in supporting opportunities for growth and resilience. Systems change takes teamwork, however the most important member of that team is you. On this Trauma Informed Practice Day you will learn the why and how to keep you well and resourced in order to support the emotional and academic progress of the children in your school. You may already have some knowledge or you may be coming as a complete novice. Either and anything in between is fine. Numbers are limited to keep the group small for the benefit of more enriched learning. On this practice day you will; • Take a deep learning dive into the nervous system and how this applies to you, your setting and the progress of your learners. • Learn practical skills and strategies to support yourself and others. • Have opportunities to discuss children you are working with through small group supervision sessions • Benefit from a day of immersion into the topic with two highly qualified and experienced practitioners.

A relaxed, fun course covering the basics of first aid; CPR, Dealing with Unconsciousness and Dealing with Choking. This course is recognised as a refresher for all First Aid Qualifications and a chance to get together with other first aiders and discuss all things first aid. It is not the same as a requalifier. If your certificate is due to expire you must attend a full course.

Be prepared for emergency first aid situations at work The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, specifically designed to benefit Learners by preparing them to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations and/or take on the role of emergency first aider in the workplace. This one day course is for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide help to people in a range of emergency first aid situations. During the course, learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations, including: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, choking, shock, wounds and bleeding and minor injuries. At ECS, we also include the optional session on Management of life-threatening catastrophic bleeding as standard. Topics covered include The roles and responsibilities of an emergency first aider Assessing an incident Managing an unresponsive casualty CPR and defibrillation Recovery Position Choking Seizures Shock Wounds and bleeding Minor injuries (incl. Cuts, grazes and bruises; Minor burns and scalds) Management of life-threatening catastrophic bleeding Note: The Emergency First Aid at Work content aligns with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) syllabus Assessment Methods 4 x Practical assessments 1 x Theory assessment (Multiple Choice Question Paper). Eligibility Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training and be able to perform practical tasks at floor level. There are no other formal entry requirements Qualsafe strongly recommend that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

The Level 3 Award in Canine First Aid is perfect for owners and professionals alike who want to be prepared should a pet need emergency treatment. The qualification covers the common canine emergencies such as how to treat injury, dress wounds, allergic reactions, stings, poisoning, choking, seizures, CPR, hypothermia and much more. This qualification has a balance of theoretical and practical learning to ensure candidates have the knowledge required should they face an emergency first aid situation. Candidates are required to attend academic theory and practical training sessions at Abbeydale’s bespoke training center. All sessions are designed, delivered and supported by experienced registered veterinary nurses with emergency critical care and trauma medicine experience.
