A Health & Safety Executive Approved course that complies with First Aid Regulations 1981. This is a refresher course for those that have previously attended and passed the First Aid At Work Course and now need to renew their certification. Who Should Attend? People that hold a valid First Aid At Work Certificate Course Content Health & Safety Using a First Aid Kit Incident Management Resuscitation / CPR - Adult, Child, Baby AED Familiarisation Recovery Position Choking - Adult, Child, Baby Burns & Scalds Poisoning including Anaphylaxis Epilepsy Shock Bleeding & Nose Bleeds Asthma Head Injuries Fractures, Sprains & Strains Many Other Specific Conditions Course Duration: Two Days Assessment / Certification Independent qualified assessors carry out the assessments. Each delegate that passes will receive a Certificate valid for Three years. Please note that training can take place upto 3 months in advance of the Certificate expiry date. The new Certificate will be dated from the expiry date of the old Certificate.

TQUK Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (with VR Practical Sessions) This is our most popular course. This TQUK Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work course is designed to provide learners with the essential skills and knowledge to handle emergency situations in the workplace effectively. Ideal for those responsible for first aid in low-risk work environments, the course offers a blend of theoretical instruction and cutting-edge virtual reality (VR) practical sessions to enhance hands-on experience in a safe, controlled environment. Throughout the course, learners will develop a solid understanding of first aid principles, including how to assess and manage various emergencies such as injuries, shock, burns, and medical conditions like heart attacks or strokes. The integration of VR technology allows participants to immerse themselves in realistic scenarios, reinforcing their ability to apply first aid techniques with confidence. Key topics covered include: - Responsibilities of a First Aider - Assessing the Scene for Safety - Basic Life Support (CPR) and AED Use - Managing Unconsciousness, Bleeding, and Shock - Dealing with seizures and burns - Infection Prevention and Control The VR practical sessions simulate real-life emergency situations, providing learners with the opportunity to practice their skills in a virtual environment. These sessions ensure a dynamic and engaging learning experience, enabling learners to feel prepared for real-world emergencies. Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive a TQUK Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work, certifying their competence in delivering first aid in the workplace. There a different first aid procedures depending on where you are and who is involved in a situation, so it is important that you are trained for different scenarios that may occur. This allows you to adapt your approach for any given situation.

The Emergency Fist Aid at Work is an accredited 1 day, instructor led course in a fully equipped training room. We use a mixture of training methods such as hands on activities, role play, group discussion, games and the use of equipment / technology to cover the different learning styles of the individual. All learners will have the skills and knowledge to provide the organisation with Emergency First Aider’s that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner. A range of subjects are covered including:- • Responsibilities and reporting • Resuscitation and AED awareness • Burns • Assessment of the situation • Anatomy • Choking • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty • Minor injuries • Epilepsy • Basic hygiene in First Aid • Bleeding control • Shock Certification Practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor, and a three year qualification will be issued to those who satisfy the criteria. In addition, the HSE strongly recommend that all students undergo an annual refresher programme of three hours. Instructions Please can learners ensure they wear trousers and a full shoe. Learners need to be physically fit and well to undertake the activities for First Aid Training, which requires learners to carryout CPR on the floor. This is a one day course for employees in a low risk environment where a qualified first aider is necessary. This course became EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK from October 2009 making it a qualification and not just an attendance.
