Important experiences can be challenging to process in the present. While we&rsquo;re often told not to linger on the past, it can be difficult to move on in life without a clear sense of where we&rsquo;ve come from. Like driving, we still need to look in the rear-view mirror to manoeuvre mindfully and journey forward.
People have been writing about their own lives for centuries. The process of writing reflectively encourages us to explore important memories, often unearthing forgotten moments, and to consider how we&rsquo;ve grown and developed since then. Creating a written piece can be a way of &lsquo;clearing the shelves&rsquo; in our minds and, like all writing, bring a sense of accomplishment.
This workshop is a dedicated space to reflect on an important memory or experience in your life, consider how it has impacted you, and use creative writing skills to begin developing a piece of reflective, autobiographical writing. We will also finish the workshop with some mindfulness through writing. The class is suitable for anyone who wants to develop their writing skills or dedicate time to exploring a significant past experience. No writing experience is necessary! 
About Matthew:
Matthew studied English Literature at the University of Glasgow and has been teaching English in schools and to foreign language students for fifteen years. He writes novels, short stories, poetry, and non-fiction, and has spoken at various book launches, festivals, and writing groups including the Cymera Festival, The Nottingham Writers&rsquo; Studio, Writing East Midlands, and Poetry LGBT. He won the National Trust for Scotland's Morton Writing Competition in 2019 and recently won the Strathkelvin Writers' Group poetry competition. Matthew is also a qualified Reiki II healer and a keen Ashtanga yoga practitioner with a fascination for tarot, meditation and crystal healing.

With mountain views and a variety of plants and trees, which include oranges, lemons, pomegranates, figs and grapes. The eco-swimming pool is also a great place to sketch and paint with water lilies, iris, marginal plants and a small waterfall.Locations locally include the Watermill walk at Algarinejo, the lake at Iznajar, any of the local towns and of course further afield in Granada, Cordoba and Malaga.Francesca Wyllie is a very experienced tutor and has led many workshops with groups and one-to-one classes. This Level 1 Certification Program is the first step in our Instructor Training Certification Pathway, equipping you to confidently use the Healthcare Hero simulation in your teaching environment.

In this program, you will experience the simulation as a student, navigating its complexities and dynamics. Upon successfully completing Level 1, you’ll be ready to advance to Level 2 Training, where you will deepen your expertise in simulation facilitation and administration.

What to Expect:
The Healthcare Hero simulation places you in charge of a fictional hospital. Over eight simulation rounds - each representing one quarter of business operations - you will make strategic decisions to optimize patient care while managing staffing, capacity, quality, and finances.
Throughout the simulation, you’ll navigate challenges like healthcare and economic crises, all while balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders. Your ultimate goal is to outperform competing hospitals managed by other participants in the program.

Program and Certification Requirements

This program equips you to confidently lead the simulation by requiring more than attendance or participation. To earn certification, you must:

Thoroughly Prepare: Review all instructional materials and the scenario manual before the course begins.
Fully Participate: Attend all Zoom sessions and complete each simulation round with focus and effort.
Demonstrate Mastery: Show a comprehensive understanding of the simulation’s dynamics, decision-making processes, and strategies during practice and live rounds.
Engage in Reflection: Actively participate in debrief sessions, assess your performance, and identify strategies for improvement.

This certification ensures you are equipped to facilitate this complex simulation with confidence. Auditing the course is an option, but participants who choose to audit will not receive certification.

The program is delivered intensively over one or more Zoom sessions, totaling six hours. This compressed format demands your full attention and focus to successfully navigate the simulation’s complexities.

Phase 1: Pre Zoom Call / Study / Set Up

Review the instructional materials thoroughly.
Once the cohort is finalized, you will be sent your login credentials for the simulation itself.
Try to submit decisions for the first practice round using the simulation portal at www.simulationportal.com.


Phase 2: Play

We run two practice rounds over the first 2 hours of the zoom call. This allows you to familiarize yourself with the platform and decision-making process, and think through what your strategy might be in the live game.
The simulation resets ("zeroed") after the practice rounds.
A brief session will clarify lessons learned and expectations for the live rounds.
Over eight rounds, you’ll compete against other participants while refining your strategic decisions.


Phase 3: Feedback

Reflect on your performance during a structured debrief, including:
Strengths and areas for improvement.
Insights into competitors’ strategies.
Strategic lessons learned, and applicability to local healthcare organizations.


Phase 4: Implementation Planning

This free informal information session for museum staff and trustees aims to provide more information about the Kids in Museums programme to support you to recruit young Trustees at your museum, gallery or heritage organisation.

Our CITB Online - Site Supervisors’ Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) Refresher course is designed to give attendees a broad reminder of their responsibilities for health and safety on construction sites. Approved and endorsed by the United Kingdom Contractors Group, the SSSTS refresher course is a must for anyone who occupies a supervisory role on UKCG sites and wants to brush up on their knowledge of their legal responsibilities and the latest construction industry regulations.
The SSSTS Refresher course has been created to provide existing supervisors, or those who are just entering into a supervisory role, with in-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and procedures. If a candidate completed a full SSSTS training course up to 5 years ago, they will be required to attend a refresher programme.
Prerequisites
SSSTS certificates are of course valid for up to 5 years, but due to the ever-changing nature of the industry, it is recommended that staff stay up to date by enrolling on a refresher course long before the qualification expires.

Please note all Site Supervisor Training courses with the venue “Remote Learning” will be delivered by a tutor over a video call.
This training will be delivered and assessed in English language; therefore, a good standard is required to complete the course.

Site Supervisor Training Scheme (SSSTS) Refresher

This one-day course is a must for anyone considering or already working within a construction or civil engineering environment. This course provides Health and Safety awareness and is endorsed by Build UK as a standard training for all operatives on site.
Aims
To give a clear understanding of Regulations & Legislation that applies to construction work and is an ideal refresher for any operative that has previously completed training in Health & Safety.
Course Content
• Accident prevention
• Health & Safety law
• Control and management of the site and your how your role fits in with this
• Risk assessments and method statements
• Performing safely on site
• Reporting unsafe acts to prevent an accident
• Individual & employee responsibilities
• What to do if you think anyone’s Health and Safety is being put at risk
Assessment
At the end of this course, all delegates will have a clear understanding of the requirements of Health and Safety Legislation and their responsibilities to comply with them.
Candidates will need to complete a multiple-choice exam at the end of the CITB course. They will also need to engage and interact with others throughout the day.
Certificate
This certification for this course is valid for 5 years and is endorsed by Build UK as a standard training for all operatives. The certificate is part of CSCS Green Card requirements.
To remain certified in this area, you will need to retake the course before the expiry date or have completed an NVQ2 or higher in your skills set.
