Durham school of English is a boutique language school with small classes and strong community connections. Durham is in the north east of England, four hours north of London.   The city is famous for its cathedral and castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that attracts thousands of tourists every year.  It is also well-known for its university, the third oldest university in England. There are almost 18,000 students living in the city, of which 4500 come from overseas.   We differ from many other English schools in that we create opportunities for our students to speak English with English people, in the ‘real world’, as opposed to just in the classroom.  Primarily, we do this through arranging interviews and conversations with local businesses and institutions.   (Cover photo provided by Visit County Durham)
