Adult Sunday Sessions are open-level and are carefully designed for all ages, backgrounds and abilities. A SPECIALISED DRAMA COURSE FOR 11-21 YEAR OLDS, LED BY INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS In2Drama’s signature course is our Summer Academy for young aspiring performers wishing to carve out a career in the performing arts, or simply to explore a new hobby. Monday 22nd - Friday 26th July 2024 The Academy takes place in Cranleigh Arts Centre, around 20 minutes from Guildford. The venue has a professional theatre, a sprung dance floor for choreography sessions, dressing rooms, and lots of great areas for filming and multimedia activities, so it's the perfect spot for our aspiring performers to learn in. ‍ WHO IS IT FOR? Whether you’re simply interested in making new friends and having fun over summer, or you’re an aspiring performer with the goal of attending drama school or casting call auditions, we’re here to help make your dreams a reality. 11-15 year olds: Ready for an amazing summer of making friends, learning new performing skills and putting on a real show? Our lower age group offers all of the below modules with a focus on developing skills, having fun with friends and performing for family. 16-21 year olds: This group is suitable for 16-21 year olds who would like a future in the performing arts. While still suitable for those who want to have fun, the courses will be focused on perfecting audition skills for casting calls and drama school applications. ‍ WHAT YOU’LL LEARN You can benefit from over 35 hours of masterclasses in acting, singing, dance, audition skills, music production, technical theatre and film production, all taught by industry professionals, with modules tailored to your learning goals. Our team will help you capture the very best bits of your performances and a brilliant headshot that you can use to apply for future castings and opportunities. Part 1, October 27th -29th, 2023 @ Clophill The Spiral continues – Four modules going around the cardinal directions West Direction – October 27th – 29th, 2023 With Leo Rutherford & Ruth Humming Ford Mother Earth – Life, Death and the Dance!  This module is focussed on the Earth and our connection to everything physical – in other words, every-THING! This includes our own body which is our spirit's 'Vehicle of-Experience' for this life on earth. The shamanic path is about developing our personal sovereignty, our right to Real-ise our True Self.   Our movement West is towards our fitness to navigate our way through this life and into the beyond. The shamans say that all sickness starts in the spiritand only later becomes physical. Using tools including shamanic journeying and dancing we will seek access to the beyond and to whatever healing is needed to bring us health and fitness both individually and collectively. Overcoming fear of death is a key to daring to live fully with heart. It is by committing to ourself that we will live fully, live to our best, put our whole self into whatever we have chosen to pursue…. that the most stunning results come to be achieved. And it is from that experience of daring to to go full-on that the greatest insight and development happens. Through Shamanic Journeying, ceremony, dance, we disappear into spirit, detaching from life’s ordinary challenges, able to let go and see through and past everyday issues to deeper patterns. We enter parallel realities where hidden patterns can be experienced and solutions to seemingly unsolvable problems can be accessed. “Music is the movement of sound to reach the soul for the education of its virtue.” - Plato Our Singing and Audition Masterclass is one of the highlights of the Academy, and an incredible learning opportunity for anyone looking to improve their singing, get started in musical theatre, and perfect audition pieces in order to start attending casting calls or applying to drama schools. The 2-day Masterclass is taught by two amazing tutors: Kath Harman - Kath studied Professional Dance and Musical Theatre at the Urdang Academy in London, and her career highlights include performing with Dua Lipa at the Brit Awards, and travelling the world with Carnival Cruise Line. Emma Hatton - Emma graduated from LSMT and her big break came in 2009 when she made her West End debut - originating the role of Donna in Dreamboats and Petticoats. Following this triumph, she was cast in We Will Rock You as an understudy for the roles of Scarmouche and Meat. Emma has also played Elphaba in Wicked and has a variety of other on-stage credits. Whatever your experience level, this brilliant course will help you break out of your comfort zone in a supportive environment and walk away with an audition toolkit that you can use to start applying to further education or working in the industry. If you have questions about how industry auditions work, Kath and Emma can demystify the process! While the focus of this course is musical theatre, you can choose to work on songs outside of this genre if you like. Please note: Prior to starting the course, we ask all students to submit two songs they would like to work on to In2Drama's Musical Associate Simon Fraser, who will accompany you on piano during the course.
