You will be using the Shaggy Rag Rug technique to create your own rag rug wreath.&nbsp; Join us to learn one of the basic rag rugging techniques and to cut your strips to make the most of your scrap fabric. This old English tradition is the ultimate in up-cycling, using rags, fabric strips and clips of old clothes to create a festive wreath to adorn your home.
What&#39;s included&nbsp;-&nbsp; You will be provided with the hessian and a supporting back board and a rag rug hook to take away.&nbsp; Full instruction and help on hand from Hannah together with a cuppa and cake to keep you fuelled up and ready to create!&nbsp; You can dip into the Stitching Kitchen Stash to create the fabric strips but feel free to bring any Christmas coloured old clothes to add to your wreath.

Join us for a day of textile exploration with Jayne Emerson. &nbsp;We will spend the morning playing with Water soluble fabric. &nbsp;It is such a magical ingredient, allowing you to create intricate weaves, laces and grids from scraps of fabric and tangles of threads.
In the afternoon we will have some fun exploring the possibilities using these unique textiles for Gelli Plate printing. &nbsp;You will leave full of inspiration and with a stack of experimental prints!

Jayne Emerson is a practicing textile designer, author and tutor based in north Gloucestershire, UK. She has an MA in Fashion from Central St Martins and a 1st class degree in Textiles from Loughborough College of Art and Design. &nbsp;She has over 25 years experience as a conceptual textile designer. Selling internationally to clients ranging from Chanel and Dior to M&amp;S and Boden. &nbsp;

Jayne regularly teaches experimental textile workshops and taught Kirstie Allsopp how to needle felt on TV. &nbsp; She is the author of 6 craft books, including Simply Felt, The Impatient Patchworker and New From Old all about up-cycling your wardrobe. She is also the founder of No Rules Textile Society, an online community of textile adventurers.

All materials are provided - if you have any textiles with particularly interesting textures you would like to include feel free to bring them along. &nbsp;

Take an old sweater and breathe some new life into it with free rein to delve into the stitching kitchen stash and box for christmas embellishments.
You could applique onto your jumper or stitch on beads, sequins and buttons to create a christmas jumper to make your colleagues friends and family jealous.
Full instruction and support are provided throughout the workshop, tea and cake is served to keep you fuelled.
