Alcohol consumption (In-House)

By The In House Training Company

Who says what's right for you? How aware are you of how much you actually drink each week? Is it more than you want it to be? Does it take the edge off your performance? Or do you just think it's time to change? This session will challenge the way you think about drink. It's not about what someone else thinks you ought to drink - it's about your own attitude to it. Take away a completely fresh way of thinking about drinking. Get some insights into 'how come' you drink what you do. Find out what you can easily do to drink less. During the session you will have the opportunity to take a fresh look at: Your drinking habits - casual/social drinking, habitual drinking, binge drinking 'How come I do this'? How we think about habits 'How could I change my drinking'?

By The Ed Psych Coach

Part 1: ‘Lunch and Learn’ with Max & Fi ✨ ( About 15-20 min) Max and Fi will share various psychological models, resources and ideas to help you feel positive, purposeful and inspired in your EP career. We draw upon positive psychology, with the aim of helping you feel motivated, engaged and purposeful in your EP Career. Part 2: Time to connect 🧠🧠 ( About 40-45 min) Come and find your 'tribe' and connect with like-minded EPs. W e will organise breakout rooms for small group chats, reflections and connection-building within the EP community. You might want to share some ideas with others, find out what others are up to, make connections and explore possible collaborations. Maybe you're feeling isolated (easy in this role!) and just fancy some EP company and connection. We will offer some prompts for your chats and do our best to reduce any awkwardness and make it fun and friendly! Come with an open mind. Be brave. Be curious. See where the session takes you... Bring your own lunch and a cup of PositiviTEA. If your cup is feeling a bit empty, we hope we can fill it during the session* * This is a metaphor. No actual tea is included ;) P.s. Sorry this session is not suitable for aspiring EPs . Please do look out for more appropriate events via Twitter.

Reading

The Museum of English Rural Life is owned and managed by the University of Reading. We use our diverse and surprising collection to explore how the skills and experiences of farmers and craftspeople, past and present, can help shape our lives now and into the future. We work alongside rural people, local communities and specialist researchers to create displays and activities that engage with important debates about the future of food and the ongoing relevance of the countryside to all our lives. We were established by academics in the Department of Agriculture in 1951 to capture and record the rapidly changing countryside following World War II. The Museum is based on Redlands Road in a building originally designed by Sir Alfred Waterhouse in 1880 for local businessman Alfred Palmer, of the Huntley & Palmer biscuit company. The house then became St Andrews Hall of Residence in 1911, and in 2005 a modern extension was built onto the house for the Museum. The Museum was awarded £1.8million from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) in 2014 for the redevelopment of the galleries, reopening in October 2016. The redevelopment strengthens and renews our links with agriculture as well as enhancing our position in supporting engagement opportunities for students and academics across a wide variety of disciplines, nationally and internationally. The MERL and Reading Museum are currently in a strategic partnership as part of the Arts Council England National Portfolio 2018-2022. As Museums Partnership Reading we work together to provide cultural opportunities for Reading’s young people and diverse communities, through schools, volunteering, digital engagement and exhibitions.
