I am delighted to welcome you to Huddersfield New College. Whilst I was appointed as Principal in early 2022, I have been a proud member of the HNC community for a number of years. I am honoured to have been part of the College's journey so far and I am excited about our future. HNC is a high achieving, forward thinking institution with big ambitions, both for the students in our care and our role within the communities that we serve. Most importantly, it is reflected in the successes of our students who progress from HNC to a wide range of destinations - from Oxbridge and Russell Group universities to degree level apprenticeships and the world of work. Whatever our students want to do after College, we ensure that they can achieve it. Places at HNC are in high demand and we are an oversubscribed College. We are currently extending our Campus so that even more young people from the local community can benefit from the experience on offer from September 2022 onwards. We are here to help each and every student be the best version of themselves. Our highly trained and qualified teachers are experts at identifying children’s levels of ability and adapting skill progression to each individual, nurturing confidence and encouraging natural ability. Our friendly lessons are taught in specifically selected, secure centres where our main focus is always ensuring children have fun whilst progressing their skills and making new friends through sport. With over 25 years experience in teaching children, Helen leads the Funtime teaching team delivering bespoke sports programmes to over 1000 children each week in all areas of the community from our hugely popular community sports sessions to private nurseries, primary and secondary schools. Here at Funtime Activities we provide community sports based around children having fun through fast enticing fitness sessions. The perfect balance for skill development and maximum enjoyment. We don’t believe in sitting around waiting for turns, we want to see movement, improvement and happy smiley faces! We are also linked with lots of larger sports clubs in the area so children who want to take sport to the next level or are identified as talented will be offered places on appropriate squad classes too!
