Pedestrian is a leading arts organisation and charity specialising in music and arts education based in the heart of Leicester’s bustling city centre. Since 1998, we have built a strong track record of delivering high quality creative activity that has seen us complete over 14,000 workshops. We provide education, training and outreach projects for young people at risk, vulnerable adults and communities in Leicester, Leicestershire and across the Midlands. Our participants are often socially excluded, not in education, employment or training (NEET) or experiencing disadvantage. We believe that with the right levels of support and timely intervention everyone can achieve their goals, we call this ‘Pioneering Potential’. We have three main areas of work: Alternative Education Provision (AEP) Early Intervention & Outreach Progression & Training Creativity is a key part of our lives, at Pedestrian we offer the chance for everyone to explore this through music, dance, photography, street art, etc regardless of who they are and where they come from. We believe that our children benefit most from early years education and care when we work in partnership with parents and carers. And so our aim is to support you as your child’s educator by involving you as much as possible. We are a family run business based in Ansty, Coventry. Established since 2016 we offer Exclusive Dog Boarding, Behaviour Change Programs and Pet First Aid Courses. We are fully licensed and insured. A bit about me.... I worked in the corporate world for 25 years as a HR Consultant, but following a breakdown and the subsequent birth of my child, I needed a career change. Growing up I was never without a dog, and was always intrigued about the relationship between owner and canine. It was only when I moved into my own house and acquired two Border Collie puppies that the problems started. They would howl whenever they were left alone, they would attack other dogs when out on a walk, they barked at every noise and they were slowly destroying my home. Enough was enough, so I called in a Dog Behaviourist, and after only 48 hours of following simple techniques, the problems diminished considerably. He helped me to see where I had gone wrong and the importance of being able to speak 'their' language. In 2016 after having re-trained as a Dog Behaviourist, I founded Hounds 'n' Harmony and went on to train further with an amazing lady called Jan Fennell. In 2017, after sadly loosing my own dog, I added exclusive dog boarding to my services and in 2018 I trained to become a Pet First Aid Instructor and hold certified courses at my training facility in Coventry.

We aim to deliver a high quality of assessments, training and intervention to families, nurseries and schools to effectively teach children with autism and related conditions based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). We are passionate about providing evidence-based interventions to help your child learn new skills. This might be skills such as eating a meal, playing with toys, sharing books, taking turns, learning how to communicate, playing with and making friends, or some extra support with academic school skills! Clients may include people with physical or sensory disabilities, people with neurological conditions (e.g. dyslexia) and people with mental health issues, who wish to develop and enhance their skills for study and work.
