First Aid training – Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) (FAA Award Level 2) is QCF, Ofqual and HSE approved awarding organisation. This course delivered over a minimum of 6 hours is both practical and theoretical covering responsibilities of the first aider, reporting, first aid hygiene, bleeding, shock, seizures, assessments, resuscitation, angina, heart attacks, choking, minor injuries and dealing with an unresponsive casualty, compliant with the latest health and safety executive regulations and guidelines. ATTIRE AND DRESS CODE We would recommend for all female candidates to wear trousers, comfortable shoes so that they can all practice the technique of CPR effectively on the CPR manikins. This course is ideal for those in any role of responsibility within the construction industry, or for anyone looking to become a site manager in the future. The Site Management Safety Training Scheme is strongly regarded as one of the best available and provides you with a thorough health and safety training background within the current legal guidelines. Construction site managers and supervisors have a legal duty to ensure the health and safety of their fellow workers and the public. Not only are there laws and regulations to adhere to, there is a moral duty to do all that is possible to prevent accidents and injuries onsite. SMSTS Course Breakdown When studying SMSTS courses you will be taught how to work and manage following the regulations stipulated by the Health and Safety at Work Act. Some of the areas which are covered during the five day SMSTS training course include: SITE SET UP RISK ASSESSMENTS METHOD STATEMENTS SCAFFOLDING EXCAVATIONS SCAFFOLDING DEMOLITION CONFINED SPACES You will be required to attend all five days of the course in order to be awarded the Site Management Safety Training Scheme qualification. During 5-day SMSTS courses delegates will need to show understanding of the main elements and pass the core exercises. At the end of the training you will be required to sit a final examination, passing the exam will mean you qualify for the SMSTS certificate which is then valid for five years. Staying In Date After the five years it is necessary to return for a two day SMSTS Refresher course to make sure you are still up to date with the latest health and safety regulations. By passing and maintaining your Site Management Safety Training Scheme training you are able to prove that you are complying with the demands and laws regarding construction health and safety. 5 day SMSTS courses are considered to be an indication of the competence of a Site Manger according to the Approved Code of Practice for the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM). The training is also ideal for Site Managers as well as: PROPRIETORS OF CONSTRUCTION COMPANIES PROJECT MANAGERS SITE SUPERVISORS It must be stressed to all course attendees the need to attend ALL sessions since without full attendance the examining body will not award the CITB SMSTS training Qualification – Construction Site Managers Safety Certificate.

This accredited Two-Day First-Aid at Work Course is designed for those who currently hold a First-Aid Qualification that is due to expire and meets the requirements of the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 and the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1982. The Certificate is valid for 3 years and will expire from the date on the certificate. Paediatric First Aid Paediatric First Aid at Work Two Day Course Cost:  £125 + vat per person This course has been developed for those who are working with children and infants. It will be of particular interest to teachers, child minders, crèche assistants, playgroup personnel and anyone else who has a responsibility for their welfare whilst in your care. The purpose of the qualification is for the learner to attain the knowledge and practical competence required to deal with a range of paediatric first-aid situations. This two-day qualification fulfils the requirements for first aid training detailed in the Department for Education’s statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.  SYLLABUS A range of subjects is covered, including: Role of the Paediatric First Aider Primary survey Resuscitation (CPR including the safe use of an AED) Wounds, bleeding and shock Allergic reactions including anaphylaxis Head, neck and back injuries Seizure Choking Minor injuries Recovery position Fractures Foreign bodies Diabetic emergencies Asthma Meningitis Febrile convulsions Extreme cold and heat Electrical incidents Maximum of 12 People Students must be a minimum of 16 years of age to qualify. Numbers A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course. CERTIFICATION The qualification is valid for three years from the date of achievement. It is recommended that the learner attends annual refresher training. The learner will need to complete the full course again to re-qualify for a further three years.
