The Level 3 Award in Canine First Aid is perfect for owners and professionals alike who want to be prepared should a pet need emergency treatment. The qualification covers the common canine emergencies such as how to treat injury, dress wounds, allergic reactions, stings, poisoning, choking, seizures, CPR, hypothermia and much more. This qualification has a balance of theoretical and practical learning to ensure candidates have the knowledge required should they face an emergency first aid situation. Candidates are required to attend academic theory and practical training sessions at Abbeydale’s bespoke training center. All sessions are designed, delivered and supported by experienced registered veterinary nurses with emergency critical care and trauma medicine experience.

Hi, I’m Ondine a dog walker and trainer based in the Rhondda Valley. I have been training dogs since I was 8 years old when I finally persuaded my parents to allow me to get my first dog, Sam an incredibly naughty Border Terrier, Jack Russel cross. My life has led me to love and train all types of dogs from German Shepherds to Cayman Islands street dogs like Rosa. I have trained dogs to fight crime with the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service and have interned with the Miami Dade Police Department K9 Unit. I have also been lucky enough to train Flyball with the wonderful Pam Martin and the Top Dog Flyball Team as well as be coached by the Canadian Flyball champions and world record holders, Team Spring Loaded Flyball. All of this experience and fun has led me to be a firm believer that you CAN teach an old dog new tricks. This course is an introduction to styling dogs. You will spend 15 full days on site doing practical learning with our fabulous dog models and tutors. There are 5 written modules, grooming diaries and 2 practical assessments at the end of the 15 days. This qualification is aimed to take students on a journey from complete beginners to be able to groom a selection of breeds.

This course covers the basics of dog grooming. In addition to 5 days at our school, there are 2 written modules, grooming diaries and 1 assessment at the end of the 5 days. The 5 days on this course count as part of the 15 day Certificate or the 30 day Diploma if you wish to upgrade. This qualification is aimed to introduce students to dog grooming, and give you a taste of what being a dog groomer could be.
