Looking refresh and advance your technical screen acting skills? This 5 Day Screen Acting Essentials course held at the World Famous Pinewood Studios has been crafted for those who are committed to improving and developing their knowledge in a practical setting on camera. Over the week you will build camera awareness, understand shot sizes and how they impact performance, hitting marks, script analysis and audition tips. Filming footage throughout the week you will receive immediate feedback from the experienced Directors and see progression to a confidence that can be applied both in self-tapes and on set. Course Outline Screen Acting Essentials Your Week On Camera The course aims to help actors leave feeling prepared and confident in their new skills enabling them to deliver better performances on screen. Day 1: The Technicals Learn and Practice the basic technical skills an actor needs to master to perform successfully in front of the camera. Understand the differences between acting for stage and screen. Topics include: shot sizes, continuity, eye-lines, vocal control, physicality and hitting marks. Day 2: Understanding The Script & Character Development Learn techniques and methods to successfully analyse a script in order to create inspirational and authentic characters. Developing characters you will identify their arc, and find contrast even within a page of script underpinned by voice, diction, physicality and improvisation skills. Day 3: Working on a Film Set To raise your awareness on a film set, you will participate in filming as members of the crew including sound, script supervising and Directing to really understand the challenges of each role and it you should communicate as an actor. You will also film a scene as part of this role-play process. Day 4: Audition Technique Understand how you should prepare for a screen audition. Experience the casting process most commonly in use today and how to avoid the pitfalls of interview ‘overkill’, preparing you for your next audition. Day 5: Lights, Camera, Action Implementing everything you have learned throughout the week, you will film a scene with a crew. Join me on this landscape photography workshop in the iconic mountains, quarries and landscape of SnowdoniaLandscape PhotographyA new addition to the tours and workshops, this area has some of the highest mountain ranges in England and Wales. The landscape is rugged but beautiful with high mountains, flowing rivers and large lakes. Based around Capel Curig in the National Park we will visit some hidden treasures, lakes, mountains, quarries and iconic vistas.A Snowdonia photography workshop and photo walk in Cwm Idwal amidst the Glyderau and Carneddau mountain ranges, the glacial lakes of Llyn Idwal and Llyn Ogwen and the impressive Ogwen Falls. A workshop for beginners or anyone looking to further develop their landscape photography.Course content includes camera controls, use of filters, gear choice, advice on composition. The workshop involves walking to different viewpoints within Cwm Idwal on rocky, uneven paths and an ascent of 300ft to a viewpoint above the lake so a good level of fitness and mobility is required. Due to the terrain unfortunately the workshop is unsuitable for those with limited mobility.What do you need to bring with you?Camera/lenses/Spare memory card/batteries/tripod - A digital camera with "semi-automatic/manual" controls (Aperture and Shutter priority) is recommended to get the most from the course. Filters (if you have them) A packed lunch/snacks The relevant user manual for your camera Warm/waterproof clothing and suitable footwear - weather can be unpredictable all year round in Snowdonia. With Young Actors Coach Paul Lockwood Introduction Acting classes designed for Children/Teenagers who show a passion for acting and wish to enhance their skills in acting for screen and stage. Actors Studio offers weekend crash courses in Theatre, Television and Film for young actors aged 11 – 16 at the world-renowned Pinewood Studios. Children will work alongside experienced actor and acting coach Paul Lockwood to learn the difference between stage and screen performances, while developing a high set of skills to achieve a truthful performance. Lights Camera Action widens a young actors skill-set with sessions that include, acting techniques, devising short scenes, script work, audition techniques, screen and stage acting, listening and reacting skills.  Meet Your Tutor Paul Lockwood Young Actors Coach Paul Lockwood is a screen actor and stage performer who specialises in working with young performers to help them realise their potential on screen. Paul works with both professional and beginners understanding the needs to help them succeed. The Firth of Forth is a stunning and diverse location for photography. During this full-day session we will travel across both the North and South banks of the River Forth to capture some amazing locations from characterful old jetties to the Forth Bridges; from the smallest port in Scotland to hidden bays. This is designed for people who know the basics of their camera and want to learn how to take stunning landscape and seascapes images whilst discovering the beautiful scenery around the Forth estuary. Attendees on the session will learn how to create stunning images in-camera through the use of filters and more advanced composition techniques. The full-day session commences from first light and will last until sunset so there are many opportunities to practice your skills. During the day we will also spend some time looking at how we can use editing software to enhance your images. The workshop will have a minimum of two and a maximum of six attendees to ensure that everyone receives individual attention from a professional photographer. About Ideal if you understand how to set the exposure of your camera manually and want to learn how to use filters to improve your photographs. We visit several locations along the banks of the Forth River to capture sunrise and sunset, panoramas and change the way we see movement in water. This is a full-day workshop, picking up from Edinburgh a couple of hours before sunrise and returning about an hour after sunset. Lunch is not included Experience level – intermediate and advanced What to Bring A camera that you can set the exposure manually A good sturdy tripod. It is helpful to have a wide-angle lens and a long zoom, although if you only have a kit-lens then that will still be fine for this workshop. You will need a filter system such as Lee, Nisi or Cokin with ND and ND graduated filters Ensure your camera batteries are fully charged and strongly consider having a spare An empty memory card, we’ll take about 150 photographs during the session.
