Looking refresh and advance your technical screen acting skills? This 5 Day Screen Acting Essentials course held at the World Famous Pinewood Studios has been crafted for those who are committed to improving and developing their knowledge in a practical setting on camera. Over the week you will build camera awareness, understand shot sizes and how they impact performance, hitting marks, script analysis and audition tips. Filming footage throughout the week you will receive immediate feedback from the experienced Directors and see progression to a confidence that can be applied both in self-tapes and on set. Course Outline Screen Acting Essentials Your Week On Camera The course aims to help actors leave feeling prepared and confident in their new skills enabling them to deliver better performances on screen. Day 1: The Technicals Learn and Practice the basic technical skills an actor needs to master to perform successfully in front of the camera. Understand the differences between acting for stage and screen. Topics include: shot sizes, continuity, eye-lines, vocal control, physicality and hitting marks. Day 2: Understanding The Script & Character Development Learn techniques and methods to successfully analyse a script in order to create inspirational and authentic characters. Developing characters you will identify their arc, and find contrast even within a page of script underpinned by voice, diction, physicality and improvisation skills. Day 3: Working on a Film Set To raise your awareness on a film set, you will participate in filming as members of the crew including sound, script supervising and Directing to really understand the challenges of each role and it you should communicate as an actor. You will also film a scene as part of this role-play process. Day 4: Audition Technique Understand how you should prepare for a screen audition. Experience the casting process most commonly in use today and how to avoid the pitfalls of interview ‘overkill’, preparing you for your next audition. Day 5: Lights, Camera, Action Implementing everything you have learned throughout the week, you will film a scene with a crew. This one-day workshop is a hands-on introduction to photographing jewellery, aimed at jewellers who are considering or just beginning to sell their work. We’ll look at the why and the how of creating a consistent and considered style for presenting your work either online or for marketing materials. We’ll cover the basic kit you’ll need; the best camera settings to use; different lighting styles and how to achieve them; and composition and styling using a range of backgrounds and props to bring your images to life. No previous photography experience is needed. You’re welcome to use a phone camera or SLR/mirrorless camera, as you prefer, and to bring with you any other photography kit or props you may have, although this is not necessary. Cathy Pyle is an experienced professional photographer and teacher of adults, who works with creatives, small businesses and magazines across the UK. Qualification Information This qualification and learning outcomes are based on the recommendations of: The Resuscitation Council (UK) Skills for Health Assessment Principles for First Aid Qualifications Course Content Following this course students will: Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider. Be able to assess an incident. Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally. Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally. Be able to recognise and assist a casualty who is choking. Be able to manage a casualty with external bleeding. Be able to manage a casualty who is in shock. Be able to manage a casualty with a minor injury. Who should attend? This qualification is for people who deal with first aid at work enabling them to be workplace emergency first aiders under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. This qualification is also for people who have a specific responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to provide basic first aid to people in a range of emergency first aid situations. Pre-requisites Students must be at least 14 years old on the first day of training. Assessment and Certifications Assessment of this course is continuous and also includes 1 theory/multiple choice question paper. Successful students will receive an Immerse Training Certificate, which is valid for three years. This certificate will be issued by Qualsafe, the awarding body for Immerse Training.
