P900 - Maintenance and testing of control measures for domestic hot and cold water systems is there to provide the basis of competence of operatives undertaking the operation and monitoring of domestic hot and cold water systems in buildings. The objective is to enable the candidates to identify the risks posed by legionella bacteria and understand how to manage the risks in domestic water systems, to a standard which minimises the risk of exposure and ill health.

Who Should Attend This course is aimed at candidates that require the knowledge to enable them to comply with working at height regulations, and go in depth into industry dangers and respectability when working at height.  This course can be completed by both novice and experienced candidates. P402 Surveying and sampling strategies for asbestos in buildings is the industry standard qualification for asbestos surveyors. In addition to holding the qualification, asbestos surveyors are required to undertake and provide evidence of annual refresher training.

This qualification is aimed at those who are involved in Plastering activities in the workplace. It is not expected that candidates working in this industry all do the same activities so the qualification has been developed to allow opportunities for those carrying out work in either solid or fibrous Plastering. Those taking the qualification must also prove knowledge and competence in working at heights, calculating quantities and wastage and the use of powered and hand tools and equipment. What is required from candidates? GQA qualifications are made up of a number of units that have a credit value or credits. This course provides the delegate with the theoretical and practical skills to undertake non-licensed works with ACM's. Persons requiring this type of training would include trade operatives undertaking tasks with ACM's as defined in HSG210 and in accordance with CAR 2012 Reg 3(2). In addition to the Asbestos Awareness, those employees whose work will knowingly disturb ACMs, and which is defined as non-licensable work or NNLW, should receive additional task-specific information, instruction and training.

P404 Air Sampling of Asbestos and MMMF and Requirements for a Certificate of Reoccupation Following Clearance of Asbestos is the industry standard qualification for those whose work involves air sampling and clearance testing, such as asbestos analysts. In addition to holding the qualification, they are required to undertake and provide evidence of annual refresher training. RP404 Refresher is a new course, specifically designed to meet this requirement. RP404 Refresher enables candidates to revise and update their knowledge on air sampling and clearance testing techniques, and to receive a certificate of course completion by passing a written examination, which covers both the theory and practice of air sampling and clearance testing.

P405 Managing Asbestos in Buildings is the industry standard qualification for those whose work involves asbestos management, such as duty holders and building managers. In addition to holding the qualification, they are required to undertake and provide evidence of annual refresher training. RP405 Refresher is a new course, specifically designed to meet this requirement. RP405 Refresher enables candidates to revise and update their knowledge on good asbestos management practices, and to receive a certificate of course completion by passing a written examination, which covers both the theory and practice of managing asbestos in buildings.

REFERENCE CODE 603/4678/4 COURSE LEVEL NVQ Level 2 THIS COURSE IS AVAILABLE IN Course Overview This is a work-based learning qualification for those involved in cavity wall surveys/inspections and/or clearance. The qualification has been developed at the request of and in partnership with OSCAR OSNITE https://oscaronsite.co.uk The OSCAR and this qualification are recognised by a number of UKAS Certification bodies, industry bodies, Local Authorities and industry stakeholders. Prior to registering on this qualification, individuals must be registered with OSCAR. The clearance pathway enables individuals to carry out the extraction of cavity wall insulation to create a clear cavity that can be reinsulated or insulated if the system has been used to remove debris only. Candidates must also prove knowledge and competence to create a clear cavity to be able to facilitate External Rendering and External Wall Insulation complying with current Building Regulations. All work must be completed following safe working practices, relevant legislation, and comply with contract information and the allocated timescales. The surveyor/inspection pathway requires candidates to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required to interpret information to be able to carry out a Cavity Clearance survey in accordance with the job specifications, following safe working practices and within the allocated time. The Surveyor must also understand how to communicate with others to ensure work is carried out effectively. This pathway includes identifying and selecting the correct quality of equipment, additionally candidates must understand how to calculate quantity, area and wastage. To achieve this pathway unit the survey work must be carried out in ways that will minimise the risk of damage to the work and surrounding area and using and maintaining equipment effectively. This qualification is made up of 3 mandatory units and 2 pathways. Candidates must complete the mandatory units and one or both of the pathways. The minimum credit value of this qualification is 24 credits.
