Add a specialism and tap a new detailing market. Motorbike detailing is an untapped market for many detailers. Designed specifically for established Professional Detailers, this course will give you the best-practice knowledge and skills required to perform in-depth detailing and related work on motorcycles in a safe and effective manner, taking the guesswork out of a new sector. You are not required to hold a Motorbike Licence as no riding will be taking place, and all training vehicles will be provided for you. Professional Motorcycle Detailing Designed specifically for established Professional Detailers, this course will give you the best-practice knowledge and skills required to perform in-depth detailing and related work on motorcycles. At the end of the course, you will sit a brief theory assessment to ensure the specific, and general, knowledge has been taken on board prior to the award of your qualification. You are not required to hold a Motorbike Licence as no riding will be taking place and all training vehicles will be provided for you   Course Details: Health & Safety How to market yourself as a Motorcycle Detailer Safe handling of motorcycles - side/centre stands, paddock stands, jacking Assessment of motorbike condition Cleaning, decontamination & preparatory work of the tank, fairings, screen and exposed surfaces: Washing processes, pre-wash & snow foam, acids and alkalis, fallout removers and in-depth cleaning practices Cleaning, decontamination & preparatory work of wheels Suspension, running gear, swing arm and fork degreasing and cleaning Safe fairing panel removal Engine cleaning Chain and sprockets inspection, cleaning and re-lubrication Paintwork inspection and defect identification Introduction to small-area machine polishing equipment Perspex polishing Paint, plastic, wheel, metal, chrome, anodised, powder coat and anti-corrosion protection options Helmet and visor care Theory assessment   This is a very intensive course if you have little experience, and we recommend that those new to the industry or with little experience use it as a bolt-on to another of our training courses. When you leave the Academy it will then be up to you to build on the knowledge you have gained by putting it into practice, with ongoing support from the training team. This two-day course will introduce you to different methods and techniques used within the metal industry, and you will come away with a finished product at the end (Example: ornamental garden flower, weather vane or a wall mounted coat rack).

Within this day you will learn how to mould a part of your/your partners/ your childs body in a safe, non toxic, water based material called alginate. You will then learn how to make a cast from that mould using a sculpture plaster. Once the cast is removed from the mould you will learn how to 'fettle' the cast in other words make it perfect, then you'll have the option of adding a colour to the cast or mounting it on a stand. What you learn during the course can be used to cast your children's hands and feet when you're back at home, I can supply all the materials you need to do this. I've been running this type of workshop for 25 years so I'm very experienced in the process. I cast my own mothers hands about a year before she died and they are my most prized possessions as they have picked up so much detail

During this class we will explore the creation of abstract sculpture starting with the development of ideas, shapes and forms, then we will use some composite sculpture material to transfer your ideas from a sketch to a 3 dimensional work. The material we use is rigid but very easily worked with rasps and reduction paper so you'll quite quickly gain confidence in working with it. We will supply a dust mast if requred You don't need any prior experience in sculpture or a background in art to enjoy this course, I'll take you through all aspects of the creative process. At the end of the day you'll have a piece of work to take away but we will also have discussed how to take your original to the next stage which will be moulding and casting to re-produce it in a hard wearing material.
