Private View - Join Us For Drinks Thursday 14th November, 6pm to 9pm We are thrilled to announce our second exhibition this month, “BECOMING”, a solo show by the talented Nigerian artist Maduka Emmanuel Onyebuchi. “BECOMING” marks Maduka’s debut solo exhibition, showcasing an exclusive collection of brand-new works created specifically for this occasion. Known for his striking hyperrealistic style, Maduka has captivated collectors and visitors alike in both Nigerian and the United States in group exhibitions, including previous shows at our gallery. In this latest body of work, Maduka explores his personal journey, reflecting on the pivotal experiences that have shaped him over time. In each piece, he assigns a crown or halo to his subjects, elevating them as Queens and Kings, symbolizing his belief that everyone possesses an inherent uniqueness and strength. Through these works, he emphasizes that each individual has the power to shape their destiny, confronting life’s challenges and striving relentlessly to carve out their own future.

Join actor & acting coach, Warren Rusher and improve your performance skills at London's best free acting class, Speak The Speech. Speak The Speech is a regular monologue workshop that has been running at Theatre Deli since September 2017, created by Warren as a response to London's lack of affordable acting training. A typical session consists of performers presenting a monologue which is then workshopped to improve the performers' approach to content and character. The aim is not to produce the perfect monologue but to use the monologue format to enhance each performer’s skill set and develop their acting process. We generally manage to work on 5-8 pieces per session. Stretch your skills in the warmest and most welcoming space to try things out: Refresh an audition monologue from your repertoire Try something new with a speech Read a monologue for the first time Perhaps you just want to see how others approach a text. Or maybe you have a casting coming up… There is no pressure to perform, you can just soak up the atmosphere and be part of the experience. Better your skills, learn from watching others, actively help others improve, and make new friends. Open to performers of all experience levels. *Bring a copy of any monologue you wish to present/work on. Speak The Speech is made possible only by the generosity of Theatre Deli offering the space for free as part of the Deli Meets program.

We usually get through 6 or 7 pieces per month. Help each other to grow… you might have the perfect exercise or insight to help unlock a deeper understanding of character and text. There is no pressure to perform, you can just soak up the atmosphere and be part of the experience. If you love getting hands-on and want to tune into your creative side, come along to this London candle making experience!  During this relaxed and friendly craft class, your friendly teacher will guide you as you learn the art of candle-making using vegan, cruelty-free, locally sourced materials. Set in vibrant Shoreditch, your teacher will take you through the process before letting you put your skills to the test as you create your own 6oz scented soy wax candle. Complete beginner? Don't worry, your teacher will be there to help and support you throughout!  Refreshments and tasty cupcakes will also be provided throughout as you master your new skills and soak up the scent of your candle creation. After pouring your candle, you’ll personalise it with your own custom label and walk away with your newfound knowledge and a sense of zen! At the end of the class, your scented candle will be ready to take home.

Our purpose is to ensure that people of all ages, especially young people aged 12-35, are able to acquire the social and emotional benefits of creative music-making and multimedia activities. We work especially with those suffering from loneliness and isolation; communities disproportionately affected by the health crisis; and schoolchildren who are suffering from social isolation that sadly prevents them from achieving their potential.
