About this event This class is going to look at portrait painting using photographs to explore how to achieve volume, we are currently working in Grisaille (many greys) and will go on to look at glazing and flesh tones in the upcoming months. This class has no model and intends to give some experience before moving on to the model. Please bring a canvas or board. It is also good to have your own paint brushes if possible. Some boards and canvas's are available to purchase if you are unable to get one in advance The works has boards, brushes and canvas for a few pounds. Join our teenagers every Wednesday, 7:30-9pm at our studio for intense dance training. Each week we develop core strength and flexibility whilst working on Freestyle and Rock n Roll dance skills. Dancers are currently working towards various medals and graded exams but with a focus on the Level 3 certification for which there will be an exam in March 2024. Attendance requires membership at our academy with monthly fees (£21 per calendar month)

A Whiter Shade of Pale with Chris Yates Using mono-printing techniques, stamps and stencils, and your chosen colours of paint, you will create an individual background which can then be used to create positive and negative images. These can then be stitched with hand embroidery resulting in a truely indivdual piece (or two). A word of warning this technique is addictive.

Playing with Fire (safely) to create copper jewellery is an introduction into copper smithing where you will amaze yourself by using an age old technique to make unique jewellery.

MIXING TECHNIQUES STAGE 1 EVERY TUESDAY FOR SIX WEEKS 5pm - 9pm Imagine a gloriously painted landscape; as well as the main subjects, you see patches of sky and ground and maybe some things you don't notice on your first exposure. In mixing, we are trying to create a detailed 3D illusion, just like in this painting. But how can this be done?
