Introduction to Inkle Loom Weaving' workshop in the beautiful setting of Fisherton Mill in Salisbury, Wiltshire. Learn how to plan your weaving project, set up your inkle loom ready for weaving and spend a day learning the basic weaving technique in this relaxed & informative beginners weaving workshop. All materials and equipment are provided and you will leave with a clear handout of notes and your first woven band, made from organic cotton and linen, available in a wide range of stunning colours.

What you'll do Design and build your own one-off clock from recycled and scrap materials, with the help of upcycling experts, Black Paw. In this experience you can choose to make anything from a wall or table clock to a Grandfather or Grandmother clock. You’ll each be given a quartz battery powered clock unit and from there you can get creative with your design and the materials you use. Your hosts, Scott and Sue, will guide you through everything you need to know, from the tools you’ll use to how to prep recycled material. For your clock design you’ll have free reign to be creative with your ideas. The style you choose can be inspired by anything and can be finished in colour or natural wood. This is a perfect chance to create a unique piece for your home or make a personal, one-off gift. Everyone is welcome and you’ll not only go away with your finished clock, but the practical skills to continue upcycling. Please bring a face mask as you’ll need to wear one at certain points during your experience. Face shields will be optional to wear for the rest of your time in the workshop and these will be provided. All workspaces will be fully sanitised and there will regular hand washing throughout. On the day You don't need any previous woodwork experience, just some enthusiasm! Please wear old clothes (or something that you don’t mind getting damaged or torn) and sensible, closed toe footwear. Work boots are recommended. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the day, but please bring along your own packed lunch.

This is an introductory course to perfume creation, you will learn brief history of fragrances, olfactory families and psychology in this creative, hands-on, fun and expert-led workshop. This half-day group class teach you the basics of perfumery. Led by our master perfumer, you’ll access a starter selection of premium natural and synthetic perfume ingredients before creating your own bespoke fragrance. This is a full day intensive workshop which will teach you the processes involved in photo etching, including preparing the metal for etching, transferring the designs onto the metal using press and peel (P&P) paper and how to use specific etching solutions to cut the designs into the metal. This course will allow you to broaden your design process so that you can add some intricate textures to your copper and silver jewellery designs. You will be provided with a set amount of materials including copper sheet to practice the process and a 4cm by 4cm piece of silver sheet to create a silver textured pendant during your session. WHEN: Sunday 3rd November 10-5pm WHERE:  Workshop 925 based at The Mayford Centre, just outside of Woking and very close to Guildford. Alternatively instruction on where to purchase P&P paper and how to print your own designs onto it will be sent out prior to your course date to those of you who wish to etch your own designs. You will be etching the majority of the day, however if you would like to create a finished design, we can accommodate this, you can do some etching in the morning and create a design in the afternoon. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: None, all abilities are welcomed. This course is a great introduction to etching for those who have a vast experience in jewellery making but have not yet tried this technique as well as beginners looking to create beautiful textural pieces of jewellery. Long hair should also be tied back when working with the equipment. You may also wish to bring a notebook. We have handouts for many demonstrations, but there are always many tips and tricks given verbally by the tutor, which some might like to keep note of.
