Our classes are friendly open &amp; flexible in their scope, covering all aspects of stone carving for all skill levels.
We maintain a low student to teacher ratio, with no more than 6 students per course, meaning each student&rsquo;s experience can be tailored to their ambition &amp; skill level while insuring they receive plenty of one to one tuition &amp; guidance.
We have plenty of resources here at the workshop to give you inspiration, but we are more than happy for you to bring your own ideas along so that we can help you realise them in stone.
Our team has broad &amp; expert knowledge in every aspect of working stone, from decorative architectural &amp; ornamental carving through to figurative &amp; conceptual stone sculpture as well as letter drawing &amp; cutting for memorials, signs and plaques.

She exhibits her work regularly and sells to private collectors around the world. She has been teaching weaving for 15 years and is a member of the British Tapestry Group and Tapestry Touring International.

FashionLab is for the students who love to be creative and have an interest in fashion! Students explore importance of sustainability within the fashion industry and how they can still enjoy fashion in a responsible way. The students will continue to enhance their design, making and textile skills, leaving the course with a fabulous handmade garment to be proud of and that will demonstrate everything they have learnt over the term. A wonderful selection of donated deadstock designer fabrics will be available for the students to pick from to use, from designers such as Alexander McQueen, Brogger and Preen to name a few.
Everyone will end the term (ambitious project's may need more than one term) with a garment or outfit designed and made by themselves along side a journey book packed with exciting visual research, design development sketches and final illustrations.
Tutors, Jasmine and Elena, will advise the student the whole way through on their own specific project, giving them inspiration and specific and personal technical demonstrations, whilst learning more universal sewing skills.
Some of the specific skills included (tasks, tutor demonstrations and presentations): Rolled hem, Invisible zip, Standard Zips, Different machine feet, Collars, Pockets, Basic Pattern Cutting, Fly Zip, Cuffs, Heat Pressing, how to cut fabrics, choosing the right needle for specific fabrics.
What we provide:
Expert tuition, from practicing pattern cutters, fashion designers etc. who have degrees in relevant art and fashion courses.
The use of new and fully serviced Janome sewing machines, scissors, tools and threads etc.
Students can use free donated fabrics as part of our Circularity Bank, or bring in their own.
At the end of term they will come home with:
Design sheets, sustainable fabric awareness and technical sewing samples.
A completed garment and/or accessory designed and made by them.
Certificate of completion (over 80% attendance).

During this 4 week course (4 x 2 hour sessions), you’ll learn some new stitches which focus on colour and texture with the aim of making a bolster or cushion cover.
Course Schedule
Weeks 1 & 2 you’ll be learning a series of stitch sequences.
Week 3 you’ll be planning your design.
Week 4 you’ll be working on your design.
Do not panic if you don’t want to create your own design – I will also have a pattern you can follow and make if you’d prefer.
Skill Level
You must be confident with basic stitches. This is a great next step for students that have taken my beginners course, whilst also being fun project for my more advanced students.
Materials
You will receive 2x50g balls of cotton aran yarn and a 5mm hook included in the course fees. This is enough for practicing the sample stitches – the amount of yarn you require for your final project will depend on your design (you’ll get help working out how much yarn you need for your final project.)

For those of you unable to attend Linda’s course in person we offer the option of joining us online.
This is a chance to explore coloured pencil drawing for those who have never put pencil to paper. Also a wonderful course for those newer to drawing and wanting to learn the basic techniques.

‘Putting Pencil to Paper’ – A complete introduction to paper, pencils, sharpeners, erasers, setting up for still life and working from photographic reference. (45mins)

With almost nine hours of detailed instruction included, you can be assured of five artworks to be proud of at the end of this course and enough techniques to continue your new skill.
A set of notes, guidance on paper and pencils to use and an instructional video for each part of the course are included. All you need is a selection of Faber Castell Polychromos pencils, good quality white drawing paper and a few pencil case items.
