Hello I'm Tracey (The Mindful Seasonalist) and I'm really pleased to be back at Brinscall Hall to host my wreath making workshop for another year. I'd love you to join me.
The date is Saturday, 9th December.
In this beautifully, mindful space, we'll gather together to create bespoke door wreaths using natural, British grown foliage with my gentle guidance.
There will be hot drinks and festive treats on arrival before we spend the morning celebrating the season so that you leave with a festive wreath for your door that will last for many weeks. We'll take things slowly and enjoy some calm, creative time together.
As well as your door wreath, you'll also take away a luxury CocoSoy candle evocative of all the seasonal joy (120ml) in an amber glass jar by my favourite supplier, Ethel & Co, to give a warm and comforting glow to your home.
I hope that you feel able to treat yourself; the cost of which is £65.00 per person (including ticketing fee)
 
In respect of the workshop, please note:
- All wreath making equipment is provided.
- A glass of mulled wine and a light lunch is also included.
- It can be a little messy, but nothing that a good brush down doesn't remedy!
- Wear warm clothes as the room may be cool depending on the weather; layers are perfect.
- The full address for this event is Brinscall Hall, Dick Lane, Brinscall, PR6 8QL, and there is ample of parking on site.
Unfortunately,I'll be unable to accommodate cancellations once I've committed to the cost of materials. However, if you find yourself unable to attend for any reason, I will craft a seasonal wreath for you and deliver it, together with your scented candle, to your home if you live locally.
Numbers are limited to 8 per session alongside me.

In the second half of the twentieth century, Saint Paul continued to attract great art icons and some of the biggest names in 20th-century European sculpture, including Braque, Mir&oacute; and Giacometti, came together to help create La Fondation Maeght, which has become France&rsquo;s most important center of contemporary art.We will be staying in a beautiful country house very close to this magical village where we will absorb all its vitality and we&#39;ll devote ourselves to painting and drawing in the best&nbsp;&nbsp;possible conditions of light and space.

Youth Options offers bespoke programmes of learning for children and young people (either 1:1 or in groups).Through the development of positive relationships and using nature-based activities such as bush craft and horticulture to engage children and young people, we focus on developing social and emotional well-being and building confidence and resilience so that children and young people can become empowered to take responsibility for their future life choices.Our learning opportunities can take place in one of three outdoor learning centres in Bishopstoke, Itchen Valley or New Park Farm, New Forest. Alternatively, activities can be located in school grounds and community spaces.Our programmes can involve half or full day courses of 6 weeks -12 months in small groups o r a combination of individual and small group key work.Each programme is based around the needs and interests of the children or young people, including; woodwork, den building, fire lighting and backwoods cooking, nature art, games and stories, habitat exploration and woodland walks understanding the flora and fauna, gardening and horticulture, estate management and maintenance tasks.In combination these activities allow the development of teamwork, communication, problem solving and critical thinking, and encouraging participants to focus, develop a sense of agency and make positive decisions.As part of their programme, young people may work towards a National Outdoor Learning Award or Laser Award from entry to level 3 &ndash; providing the opportunity to achieve and gain recognition they may be struggling to access in a traditional classroom setting.

Through the development of positive relationships and using nature-based activities such as bush craft and horticulture to engage children and young people, we focus on developing social and emotional well-being and building confidence and resilience so that children and young people can become empowered to take responsibility for their future life choices.
Our learning opportunities can take place in one of three outdoor learning centres in Bishopstoke, Itchen Valley or New Park Farm, New Forest. Alternatively, activities can be located in school grounds and community spaces.
Our programmes can involve half or full day courses of 6 weeks -12 months in small groups o r a combination of individual and small group key work.
Each programme is based around the needs and interests of the children or young people, including; woodwork, den building, fire lighting and backwoods cooking, nature art, games and stories, habitat exploration and woodland walks understanding the flora and fauna, gardening and horticulture, estate management and maintenance tasks.
In combination these activities allow the development of teamwork, communication, problem solving and critical thinking, and encouraging participants to focus, develop a sense of agency and make positive decisions.
As part of their programme, young people may work towards a National Outdoor Learning Award or Laser Award from entry to level 3 – providing the opportunity to achieve and gain recognition they may be struggling to access in a traditional classroom setting.

Youth Options 

Youth Options offers bespoke programmes of learning for children and young people (either 1:1 or in groups). Our aim is to support children and young people to feel inspired and capable to achieve something worthwhile, address issues they are facing, improve mental and physical wellbeing whilst appreciating the importance of the world we live in.

This qualification is designed for learners aged pre-16 and above who wish to develop skills and knowledge in creative craft.

This course has been designed to be as affordable for families as possible.
Please note, this is not a GCSE but is a GCSE Level course which is why it is designed to span 2 years, although we offer complete flexibility on the timeframe that learners can complete within.
This qualification is a Level 2 Qualification and is Ofqual approved carrying 15 credits. Other examples of Level 2 qualifications are BTEC Level 2 and the Silver Arts Award. Feedback from our past learners shows that this qualiifcation is widely regarded as level to a grade A*-C/4-9 at GCSE standard when applying for college or work placements.
Please also note, that whether this course is recognised as a GCSE equivalent by colleges and further education establishments, can vary according to location, college and even between courses at the same college. If reliant on this qualification for entry onto another course, it is recommended that you establish with the college whether or not this will aid admission, before committing to the course.

We don't impose any minimum or maximum ages on our learners as we recognise that every learner is an individual and is on their own unique learning journey. We believe, that their adult facilitator is the best person to judge whether a learner is ready for a particular course, but to enable you to make this decision we provide a workbook, free for you to try.

Join us for a Tea ‘N Chat session with Julia Burrows, who will be demonstrating and lead a mini workshop on how to adapt a sleeve from a commercial pattern or block/sloper.
Julia will show you step by step how to create new sleeve styles and transform existing patterns with simple alterations. You’ll see how small design changes can open up endless possibilities for variation.

This session also introduces Julia’s brand-new Bite-Size Pattern Courses, launching 1st November - The Saturday Pattern Club.




💡 Get involved! You will be sent a half-size sleeve pattern template in advance to download and take part in the workshop alongside Julia.
A perfect taster for anyone curious about pattern cutting and keen to add fresh ideas to their sewing skills.

This Tea 'N Chat is lead by JULIA BURROWS, an experienced pattern drafter and apparel designer, who worked as a successful designer and pattern cutter for 30 years on several brand ranges in South Africa and for suppliers to Marks & Spencers in Britain. 

She has since taught pattern cutting and manufacturing for Fashion Enter in London and now works with Textiles Skills Centre, for whom she develops online courses and leads on-line and in-person pattern and sewing workshops.
